Really awesome idea honestly. Thanks so much. So I would have to pop in a SIM card tomorrow when I do the free line right?
For the last free line, I moved from my physical sim to my esim. This then freed up a sim that the newly added free line could be applied onto saving new the new sim fee. A sim had to have been active in the last 90 days IIRC. Beyond that, it's pretty much worthless.

Reading a recent Reddit thread, you can somehow use a spare line and your current line on the same iPhone 12 and use data on the free line? Anyone have any ideas on this? Is it a hassle in some way?
You can easily set this up yourself without reaching out to customer service.
1. Identify the line that you want to use on iPhone 12 esim
2. Next identify the EID of the esim. It's under settings --> about --> EID
3. Next head to your t-mobile login --> account --> select the line --> change Sim card
4. Select esim as the option and enter EID and follow the rest of the instructions including scanning the QR code to complete the set up
5. Pop the physical Sim in the Sim card slot
6. Select the default data and voice lines on iPhone

Sprint Users:

Have any of you been able to add a free line? Any time I ask, they say no or say I'm already getting one line.

Hey need.... You're not missing Sprint huh... . May you and your family have a safe and great holiday!
Only missing another BYOD deal at this point, from either, which I would rather have than the next round of Free LINE, as after this one I'm all set long term. Been spending those $250's from 2 months ago on gifts.

Same to you and yours GK!!!!

If you purchased from t-mobile it comes with a physical Sim that you can activate. Also there's a esim which you can activate using the above steps. All iPhones X and above have esim and physical Sim giving you dual Sim capabilities.

iPhone XS and above are eSIM capable. The iPhone X isn't

Looks like Magenta has 12 line maximum so you are good for a free line.
