You don't have to port it out according to TForce. It's just an internal number transfer between groups. Either you can cancel the line in other group or request a new number to keep the line, then apply the number into your group
Hmm, I believe if you transfer from one account to another it's a change of responsibility and it would just add a line. If you do change of responsibility apparently it won't allow you to have that number replace a line which would be the free line. I'm not sure if it's different since today is the promotion to add a new line for free though. My situation was slightly different since I wanted the other T-Mobile number to replace a free line.

You don't have to call. Just go to Costco and add a line as you'd do normally. Just make sure that your plan SOC is eligible. If it is then, promo would appear automatically on your account. File Costco rebate as normally you'd.

I have been told I cant stack Costco and freeline. they use different codes in the system. if I get the costco new line I have to call back to apply free line on us code which will violate Costco code.

I did not pay anything and have only been with them for about a year. I called to ask if the wearable would count as a line and they said yes, but I have 15 lines. Currently have 4 lines.

The 13th line must open in 2nd account which means you have to pay entirely 1st and 2nd new lines to get 3rd line free

I did not ask them. I am currently using 4 lines and will be porting/adding 2 more. I will never hit that many lines.

My game plan is let this playout for 24-48 hours, see if others are receiving "2020 Line On Us 4," and if so, then do the deal at Costco to add the $200 BYOD deal. Besides, it's too crazy to try this at Costco on the Sunday before Christmas.
Very wise. I'm waiting too. Several screen shots showed 12/20 is the same name "Line on Us 3 combined" and I had good experience Line on Us 2 (same thing showed on mine $40 Line On Us 2) so that's why I'm waiting. If system doesn't allow same named promos then no promise of any rep will do anything. UNLESS they now fixes the system to allow 2 same named promos combined but my experience from late September said it wouldn't stick (after having it added back again and again). I asked several posters w/ "combined Line on Us 3" screen shots to please report back in the next 24-48h if their combined Line on Us 3 promo stick and doesn't drop back to 1x Line on Us 3.

Update: I hope someone w/ "Line on Us 4" screen shot will post their screen shot soon, but it appears so far everyone posts "combined X dollar amount Line on Us 3". So the question is do they allow 2 same named promos now where as my July's experience showed it didn't stick for more than 48hr TWICE.

Update 2: I found my old Line on Us 2 combined $40 back in Sept. Proof https://imgur.com/mrfvK1y

This makes no sense. The costco rebate is third party and does not affect eligibility for the free line (the free line required no effort as it's automatic so long as SOC qualifies. You can add the line via any avenue you choose). Did the $200 costco + $100 port-in from November. The $100 was approved, the $200 in pending status (since they approve shortly before mailing in in 14 weeks). Also did the pixel 4a 5g (which is totally no longer BYOD in the literal sense)...alrrady getting the 20.08 monthly credits.

I got all the proof that I need that this will work for my SOC. Going to visit Costco later in the week and bring the IMEI from my old Note 8. The free lines are excellent for use with a tablet...and you get one more TMO Tuesday account!
