Wow this will be my 7th free line 😬 with unlimited data
So would I start with 2 lines and just add one everytime they do this promotion? Will the essentials play work or is Magenta what you need?

How much tax are you paying for your free line? I'm paying $7 the first bill and around $4/month afterward in CA. I hesitate to take on anymore free line since I don't need another one and there's tax.

Zero taxes for T-Mobile One or newer plans. That's why it may not be worth it for older plans unless you really need/use it.

Both will work but Magenta which includes taxes is better deal if you plan to have many lines.
Essentials has a limit of 6 lines.

You would start with 3 lines (promotion 3rd line on us) and add 1 line everytime you see this promotion. These 3 new lines qualify for all promotions like free iphones, free android phones, whatever deal is available today at tmobile.com

Thanks yes I seen some posts and thought that myself. If I were to sign up tomorrow I would only get the 1 line on us or was there another one that stacks? So hard to keep up, lol. But if I can get 4 lines at 120 a month on Magenta I'll do that. What about the friends and family 20%? Could that potentially knock it down to $96 for 4 lines (if I could stack the free lines that is).

Anyone know when this ends? It's kind of late to call in (won't be US support).
Typically these offers have run for about 1 week.

I went in to T-Mobile this evening and added the free line...had to upgrade my 55 and older plan in order to qualify to add a free line. The line is free but you have to purchase the SIM card which is $31.

Yes.

Check the wiki for your SOC. If you're on that 2/$100 plan, it won't be listed. That plan was a limited-time offer and has been limited to 3 lines since it was released.

Check your account and make sure your plan wasn't changed.

I'm on the 55+ plan, SOC is ONE60TI. not seeing it on the eligible code list. Guess I'm SOL.
I had to upgrade my 55+ plan to qualify for the free line... I needed another line and it ended up being cheaper to upgrade the plan in order to add a free line...rather than being on a solo plan, since I needed another line.

I doubt they will offer 4 free lines next year. But maybe?

Anyways, yes if you planned it right, you start out with TMO with the 2 paid lines plus 3rd line free (and hopefully 20% hookup at the start as well). . .and wait for more free lines vs. adding any more paid lines.

I joined in June, 2 paid Magenta lines, plus 3rd line free. next day the FLOU (june) started and grabbed that. Then Got 20% hookup added to account which was a 1% YMMV luck shot being on existing account. Then added free lines in Sept, Nov, and Dec. 7 Lines Magenta, 2 paid, 5 free

Essentials makes no sense if you plan to try and grab free lines, and overall have many lines. . .as the taxes are not included. And the benefits on Essentials are lacking vs Magenta.

Just placed an order for a new line via the site, $10 +tax for the sim, avoided the additional $10 service charge by not going thru chat. I did ask them via messenger chat if I qualified, which they said I did. I have an older One plan with already 7 lines (all paid) that I have friends and family on, and they pay enough cover my line. The rep said that I can add one more (ie this free line), at which point in the future if I want to add more, I would have to move to Magenta 9-12. Maybe I'll be able to find a rep in the future who will bump me up to a One 9-12, but I'm nervous to try because of all the discounts and promos I get currently, and my grandfathered Unlimited is a bit better than Magenta.

I know people at TMO but when I was ready to go they said legacy Sprint account detected. I didn't have Sprint but did a few months prior. So I wasn't able to sign up

Yeah, that's called the "recent former Sprint Customer TMO curse". You're gonna probably have to go into a TMO store to verify identity, or spend a few weeks online trying to clear the curse. If you didn't get a new account set up by Dec 19th, so as to quickly double dip on 3rd line on us + FLOU #4, you don't really have to hurry as you will only get the 3rd line free in the end anyways.

Many who did the $300 Sprint BYOD deal, or the following $250 BYOD deal, or similar, earlier this year, have run into this. Check latest Sprint BYOD thread by Tuxedo1 for more info. . .
