How much tax are you paying for your free line? I'm paying $7 the first bill and around $4/month afterward in CA. I hesitate to take on anymore free line since I don't need another one and there's tax.
All these recent free lines are good for those actually need the free line or have newer plan that no need to pay tax. For older plans, depend on location, some place need to pay $6 or more tax per free line.

OP's post has link reddit, which explains how to check SOC. You need to be on desktop browser though.
Yes, you can port-in number on a free line. In fact, you can change/port-in number once a year!

Thanks for the response. What does that mean, I can change number once a year? Can I get the free line with whatever number they give me, then request to change the number to a family member's phone number? Or do I have to port in my family member's number then I could change the port-in number later in the future?

Yes.

Check the wiki for your SOC. If you're on that 2/$100 plan, it won't be listed. That plan was a limited-time offer and has been limited to 3 lines since it was released.

Check your account and make sure your plan wasn't changed.
just checked and i'm still on the all in one plan.. but why it say $96 monthly. did they increase it by $16?

We will see once i get my next bill..

$96.00/mo
Applied discounts and promotions:

It never will be. That SOC is capped at 2. I had the same issue and made them change mine to FRLTULF2. Now I get the free lines.
Other than the ability to add lines, what's the difference between those 2 soc? Are there any references from SOC inclusions? Also I have that soc and have had more than 2 lines on it.

posting it as a link so you can see if there's any other codes you (or someone else can use). the SOC for UNL data w/6GB hotspot is on line 78 (or a different one on line 122) (https://docs.google.com/spreadshe...340439917) good luck
Thanks for the link! Which tmobile family plan do you have? Those 2 soc codes are for the old 6gb data stash plans that cost $20 to add a line. I have the SCFUTT6 plan which cost only $10 to add a line. If I have to change plans to be able to use your soc code for unlimited data, my bill would go up an additional total of $30.

That's the standard 2/$120 plan you're on now.

It sounds like you were on 2/$100 before with $20 Hookup every month. If that's the case, they changed your plan.

Both. You can do it at the store, online chat, online t-mobile.com store without talking to anyone, tmobile app, call 611, etc.
All will get you the free line.

Just placed an order for a new line via the site, $10 +tax for the sim, avoided the additional $10 service charge by not going thru chat. I did ask them via messenger chat if I qualified, which they said I did. I have an older One plan with already 7 lines (all paid) that I have friends and family on, and they pay enough cover my line. The rep said that I can add one more (ie this free line), at which point in the future if I want to add more, I would have to move to Magenta 9-12. Maybe I'll be able to find a rep in the future who will bump me up to a One 9-12, but I'm nervous to try because of all the discounts and promos I get currently, and my grandfathered Unlimited is a bit better than Magenta.
Wondering what's magenta 9-12 versus the original magenta?

There are the same. One max at 8 lines vs other max at 12 lines.

I doubt they will offer 4 free lines next year. But maybe?

Anyways, yes if you planned it right, you start out with TMO with the 2 paid lines plus 3rd line free (and hopefully 20% hookup at the start as well). . .and wait for more free lines vs. adding any more paid lines.

I joined in June, 2 paid Magenta lines, plus 3rd line free. next day the FLOU (june) started and grabbed that. Then Got 20% hookup added to account which was a 1% YMMV luck shot being on existing account. Then added free lines in Sept, Nov, and Dec. 7 Lines Magenta, 2 paid, 5 free

Essentials makes no sense if you plan to try and grab free lines, and overall have many lines. . .as the taxes are not included. And the benefits on Essentials are lacking vs Magenta.
how did you get 20% added after being an existing customer, did it not fall off after adding?
