Now why would T-mobile allow a customer enrolled on Dec 19 and not on Dec 20. It does not make logical sense. I think it means if you already double dipped you are fine but we won't let you double dip from now on.
I can just imagine how haphazard the training for this promo must have been (some of the training questions are on quizlets, and it seems pretty daft)

But I think the bottom line is, from Dec 20th on, you can only get one free line. Doesnt matter what the reason is...you can just get one. So you cant get the free 3rd line (via new acct) AND a free 4th line this week, for example.

Hence the mad rush to make new accounts on Saturday.

You misunderstood the original question. The OP was asking if they could move their currently Tmobile paid line (say Line #3) into the free line from today (Line #7) and cancel L3 b/c they didn't want to pay for that L3 at $30.

What you're asking is to port in a currently non-Tmobile line to a free line from today right? If that's what you want to know then you can port in at anytime (as in same minute after adding the free/paid line, 1 day later or 1 year later). If that external number used to be a Tmobile number, then wait at least 90 days before you port back into your Tmobile account....
all my lines are with t-mobile, what I was asking if I could just add the free line "line #7" and keep it there for a year, then after a year, port in "Line #3" (my main number) somewhere else like visible, cricket, etc. for 90 days, then port back to "Line 7". so the number I added this week would dissappear from my account after 15 months and would make my current primary phone number free.

Does anyone see this on the tmobile website anywhere? I've been looking so I can capture a screenshot just in case but I don't see any mention of the offer anywhere.

Thats in line with the 90 day rule. it would take 1 year and 3 months, but it is doable.
But honestly, better off just porting main number to google voice and not have to deal with these shenanigans.

I have a free line from before. I haven't added the free line from this new promo. Waiting for the glitch to go away (shows the promo as 2020 Line on us 4 instead of doubling the amount for 2020 Line On 3).

I have a promo on the account for S20 FE...500 off with trade in. There is no requirement for new line, etc.
I went to TMo store yesterday. They said that this would stack with the existing free line. Can someone confirm that this would stack with the free line? I trust SDers more than the Cust Reps. Thank you.

It only qualifies with a new "paid" lines. The free lines are explicitly excluded from the promo. You will end up paying for the line.
They said the same to me . On the free phone promotion, i will end up paying on that line .

My take is that T-Mobile realized that they were not careful before Dec 20 and allowed customers to get two free lines via two offers and they fixed it now. It does not matter if you got one free line last month or now but if you did not get the second free line before Dec 20, you are not eligible for it now.

Did you call them or use the chat to confirm this?
Never mind, I talked to a different rep and they said the first one was wrong and it's not eligible.

Does this apply to Sprint customers too now that we are part of TMobile? So no catch, just another free line if I have two existing paid lines already?

My issue with Google Voice is that several services don't accept Google Voice to send text authentication messages to, so I would have to change my registered phone number for several different things.
