I get into this argument with my family and friends often. The conclusion is always the same...the best advice and work you get done is always the kind which is done for free. Close friends, your own parents, significant other, and yes, random people on the internet.

I will trust SDers, who have identical and transparent singular motivations as I do (save $$), any day of the week over shady pros who try to act like im the next sucker that they can hoodwink over lack information. We dont withhold our experiences, post pics, links, etc.
Oh yea, had I known BYOD was suspected not to work, I wouldn't have done it. It's just that when I went to Costco yesterday morning, the OP did not have this exclusion.

For now, I guess I'll just continue the course and see if "Line on Us 4" applies and sticks. If it doesn't, at least I have some written words that I can reference to T-Mobile's executive support.

Exclusion is so unclear. Wish Op can clarify on Costco byod
Either
1) line opened thur costco as byod don't qualify as free line

Or
2) line opened thru Costco as Boyd qualify as free line but $100 Costco rebate will be rejected

Or

3). Line opened thru Costco and with qualified Costco phone promo qualify for both since the promo listed by Op are direct ly eip/bill credit whereas, the one for Costco rebate use a different promo codes not listed by Op
Im applying for the rebate. At worst, the rebate gets denied. The REBATE states "this offer cannot be combined with other promotions". It isnt vice versa, where the free line literature says "this free line cannot be combined with other promotions (save for the phone deals)."

This is just hearsay, as I am basing this on just my memory, but in early December, just after BF, I was passing the wireless kiosk. At that point, they were openly advertising BOTH the $100 port in rebate, and the $200 add-a-line rebate. Up to this point, the $100 port-in was just on the TMO side. However, on the fine print of the $200 deal, it said "cannot be combined with port-in" (paraphrasing)

They clearly were targetting people who were going to double dip (although I have to wonder who the heck would port-in without adding a new line...)

I never have an issue with them adding it to my free lines. Just tell them that you want all your lines to have the same features, be stern!

I just got this done an hour ago and changed the number for the free line I got at Costco earlier.
Thanks. Will keep trying. T-Force or iMessage?

I applied kickback to six lines at once back in 2017 (one year after opening the account)
The last two lines were free, so they cant apply kickback to something which costs $0 (I did try, though)

They applied One Plus promo when I asked. I mainly cited that my other lines already have it, and Id like them to all have the same feature set. No problem on the three occasions that I have asked them to do so (2017, last month, and tonight).

Mind you, all three occasions, the One Plus Promo was no longer openly available. In 2017,I couldve added the full One Plus (with more in-flight browsing, more hotspot, etc) for $5, but I preferred the free one. I cant remember fully, but I think the 2017 rep added them because my account was created during the time the Promo came about.
Ok. Thanks. I will have to chat with them again and ask them to add the One Plus Promo to the free line, too. Didn't know this was possible.
Yes, kickback doesn't really matter on those lines. Wink

I declined the offer at first then the rep was like are you sure it's free phone with a free line....still chatting with the rep.
Do't believe in those who said your line will be turned into paid line later as if they know for sure. If you have checked that your SOC is eligible and the CSR had also checked and made sure both the line and the phone are free, you will get both for free. You'll be asked to sign a paperwork online soon. Check to make sure you get the full credit for the phone.

Prior C rebates have also had these clauses, and I have been receiving them, latest was Sept./Oct. I expect this to be no different.

Do you know by chance when it was added to your account. This year or last year?

Tried texting 611, told me both SOC codes are expired and no longer can be added.
I honestly doesn't think it matters, but it was this year not too long ago. I'd suggest try different times of the day since the call center switches. I'm not sure, but you could ask for a Tier 2 support rep. (I'm not sure if the rep I got was Tier 2 as he had to ask for help with his supervisor)

Sorry that I can't be of much more help...

How do you add One Plus promo to new line? I added 2 free lines in the past but none of them have the promo. My main lines did.
You have to ask. I asked and got a free Samsung A11 two days after I ordered the free line last month.

Can you take a screenshot of the This Ones On Us (AAL) showing on your 9 line plan? I got all my kickbacks set and my other free lines but this promo is missing.

I could return the favor with a screenshot of mine showing kickbacks. Maybe together we can help each other out.

First TForce rep made the change to add the line and convert my plan and insisted all discounts would apply. Saw This Ones On Us (AAL) missing afterwards.

Second rep said something about this being a "Line promo" and since the plan is 9 lines for $270 it shows all lines included so there is nothing for the This Ones on Us to attach to.

I replied it was in fact on the account but doesn't show when I pull it up on T-Mobile. Totally weird the different experiences between us.

Anyone know the current "executive email" these days?
[email protected] (if this works anything like the old [email protected] email)

Just call CS (no need for twitter or FB for this). Tell them you want all of your lines to have matching features. Like other poster mentioned, be stern. If you already have the feature on the other lines, this should be easy. If you want to, you can follow my script:

- Cite two or more problems to fix. Give some first problem to fix...something thats quite hard. This free line clarification issue is perfect for that. But usually, I will ask them to port a number.
- While they bumble around trying to get the answer or to fix your problem, socially engineer them. Ask about holiday plans, how is it working from home, etc. If you dont give two shites about it, it will be obvious though.
- When they finally fix the first problem (or just tell you what they did), they will ask what else they can do for you. Then mention that youd like to make sure all the addons on your lines match. It is TOTALLY DOABLE and doesnt require any superpowered privileges. Heck, the first time I had it done for me, it was by TECH SUPPORT...not even by customer care.
- Make a joke that youd recommend them to everyone of your friends, but they he.she may lose her job because theyll all try to get free shite from him/her all day.

That is why I was skeptical. I didn't point out to the agent what plan I had and even questioned why I didn't see the promotional credits on the receipt for the new phone, but she assured me the promotion would be added to my next bill.
Seems like they have so many promotions, that there agents arent abreast of the exclusions.
I dont want to fight with them and almost want to cancel now before this gets messy.
fwiw, I have a line from a couple months ago that's free and I'm on the tmo military one plan. I'm keeping an eye on it to see if it flips to being charged, but 2 months now and no charges.
