I get into this argument with my family and friends often. The conclusion is always the same...the best advice and work you get done is always the kind which is done for free. Close friends, your own parents, significant other, and yes, random people on the internet.
I will trust SDers, who have identical and transparent singular motivations as I do (save $$), any day of the week over shady pros who try to act like im the next sucker that they can hoodwink over lack information. We dont withhold our experiences, post pics, links, etc.
For now, I guess I'll just continue the course and see if "Line on Us 4" applies and sticks. If it doesn't, at least I have some written words that I can reference to T-Mobile's executive support.
Either
1) line opened thur costco as byod don't qualify as free line
Or
2) line opened thru Costco as Boyd qualify as free line but $100 Costco rebate will be rejected
Or
3). Line opened thru Costco and with qualified Costco phone promo qualify for both since the promo listed by Op are direct ly eip/bill credit whereas, the one for Costco rebate use a different promo codes not listed by Op
This is just hearsay, as I am basing this on just my memory, but in early December, just after BF, I was passing the wireless kiosk. At that point, they were openly advertising BOTH the $100 port in rebate, and the $200 add-a-line rebate. Up to this point, the $100 port-in was just on the TMO side. However, on the fine print of the $200 deal, it said "cannot be combined with port-in" (paraphrasing)
They clearly were targetting people who were going to double dip (although I have to wonder who the heck would port-in without adding a new line...)
I just got this done an hour ago and changed the number for the free line I got at Costco earlier.
The last two lines were free, so they cant apply kickback to something which costs $0 (I did try, though)
They applied One Plus promo when I asked. I mainly cited that my other lines already have it, and Id like them to all have the same feature set. No problem on the three occasions that I have asked them to do so (2017, last month, and tonight).
Mind you, all three occasions, the One Plus Promo was no longer openly available. In 2017,I couldve added the full One Plus (with more in-flight browsing, more hotspot, etc) for $5, but I preferred the free one. I cant remember fully, but I think the 2017 rep added them because my account was created during the time the Promo came about.
Yes, kickback doesn't really matter on those lines.

Tried texting 611, told me both SOC codes are expired and no longer can be added.
Sorry that I can't be of much more help...

I could return the favor with a screenshot of mine showing kickbacks. Maybe together we can help each other out.
First TForce rep made the change to add the line and convert my plan and insisted all discounts would apply. Saw This Ones On Us (AAL) missing afterwards.
Second rep said something about this being a "Line promo" and since the plan is 9 lines for $270 it shows all lines included so there is nothing for the This Ones on Us to attach to.
I replied it was in fact on the account but doesn't show when I pull it up on T-Mobile. Totally weird the different experiences between us.
Anyone know the current "executive email" these days?
- Cite two or more problems to fix. Give some first problem to fix...something thats quite hard. This free line clarification issue is perfect for that. But usually, I will ask them to port a number.
- While they bumble around trying to get the answer or to fix your problem, socially engineer them. Ask about holiday plans, how is it working from home, etc. If you dont give two shites about it, it will be obvious though.
- When they finally fix the first problem (or just tell you what they did), they will ask what else they can do for you. Then mention that youd like to make sure all the addons on your lines match. It is TOTALLY DOABLE and doesnt require any superpowered privileges. Heck, the first time I had it done for me, it was by TECH SUPPORT...not even by customer care.
- Make a joke that youd recommend them to everyone of your friends, but they he.she may lose her job because theyll all try to get free shite from him/her all day.
GL
Seems like they have so many promotions, that there agents arent abreast of the exclusions.
I dont want to fight with them and almost want to cancel now before this gets messy.
