The BYOD deal ended before this round of LOU started. The current $100 Shop Card is for adding a line at Costco. They're also offering free A11 along with the shop card, so not BYOD.
thank you. this is interesting , and the new line is showing up as free line on your t-mobile account when costco added it?

Thanks OP! By adding a new free line we were able to eliminate a $13 a month ting account that my wife was using for her work line. Added it to her pixel as an E-SIM and we are good to go!

One Plus IS A PHONE....
Yes there's a One Plus phone. But the original poster to these related comments already responded earlier with he's not talking about the phone, but the one plus promo TMO used to run.

That is the paid add-on. This describes the difference between the ONE Plus add-on and the ONE Plus Promo:

But there was in 2019, well insider hookup anyways, not LOU. Same "insider/employee" as the OP here and most other free line, insider hookup threads here and on reddit. I missed that one too as I was still farting around with Sprint.

https://slickdeals.net/f/13691825-new-t-mobile-customers-20-friends-and-family-hookup-is-back

I joined TMO in June (after seeing JMAN100's heads up thread) for the back to back free 3rd line and then next day Free line on us double dip.
In September, when the next double dip for new customers PLUS insider hookup came along, I had the same thoughts as you, and wife tried to open up new account to get a good base of hookup plus 2 free lines. She ran into Sprint former customer "Curse" plus Fraud flag (for no reason). . .couldn't get it rectified in online, on chat, exec care at first, or even by going into store to verify indentity. . .and after dealing with Exec office for a week they finally got her account opened with Free Line on us (as the 3rd line) and insider hookup. . .but they said they couldn't add the free 3rd line on us anymore. So was stuck with free 3rd, 4th, 5th on mine with no hookup, of free 3rd only with hookup on hers. Chatted with Exec office (Amor) for another week or two. . .and finally she got tired of me and agreed to adding the insider hookup to my existing account. Would say very situational and YMMV extreme, but it is possible.
Yes. I don't think this will happen. But would be nice to have on existing account. Just dreaming. Wink

That's interesting. I just got done adding my 5th line and they didn't mention that. Although I do already have 3 paid lines and just 1 free line before this.
Looks like it will work through chat. My mom has 2 lines and I wanted to add the 3rd but she has Spanish by default on her account so I got a Spanish rep when I called from her cell. The rep gave me the wrong info or they're not providing this promo to Spanish speakers or he has no idea what he's doing (ding! ding!) Luckily chat got it done.

I added the free line yesterday and ported a Verizon line to take it over.

The people that work at the porting centre really are class A idiots.

They ported the Verizon line in as a new paid line in addition to my free line.

The T-force guy I am talking with is offering to cancel the free line now, and states I will face no consequences.

Will I be ineligible for upgrades for 90 days? What other consequences are there?

I'd rather them just give me another free line since it wasn't my mistake
I had this happen for an earlier free line promo (where the port added a new paid line). It was a huge pain, spanning multiple reps. But once it's fixed, there should be no consequences. (it should be as if it never happened)

Don't let them cancel the free line - that's where the promo is attached, and it won't automatically reattach to the new paid line that your number was ported to. (and it will be more work to reactivate the free line later when they figure out that's how to fix it - though note that I did the number port and had those issues after the free line promo ended and I'm not sure if it would be different for you since the current promo is still ongoing)

Here's the steps that the final rep (went through T-Force on Facebook chat - it takes them a while to respond to the initial message though, probably because there's so many people) that I talked to went through to fix the situation:
Quote :
First, what I want to do is to cancel the [new paid ported line] line on your account *Reason being, is that this line "shows it was activated after the free line promotion expired, which is why the promotion code got kicked off*

Then, I want to resume the [free promo] line on your account, as this was the actual line that was activated during the free line promotion time frame. After that, I will submit a mobile number reuse request to bring that [ported line] number back on the recently activated line, so that you will have the number you want, on the line that qualifies for the promotion.
It seems like that "number reuse request" was the key part of the process after they cancel the paid line with the ported number (I think it's some internal form they have to submit and then follow up with a specialist).

After that, the paid line was removed from the account and the free line with the ported number stuck. And I've had no issues with the subsequent free line promos since. Good luck!

I'm not sure if anyone has been in this situation, but has anyone been able to add kickback back into their account after it was removed by accident?

Mine was removed by accident by an in-store representative earlier this year, but I haven't been able to add it back (despite the store manager saying it was possible to add even though the perk was retired).

Does anyone know if they will recalculate your bill after adding a free line?

Last time I did this, something happened, and my bill dropped. A lot.

I am worried that if I add another line or do anything with the account at all they will raise it up to what it was before I added the last free line.

Did they by any chance switch your plan last time? For the better? Some people are on "grandfathered" plans that make no sense to keep when you consider total line costs even when the additional line is free, and taxes . . .

I think t-force should be able to fix this for you. Maybe they have to switch the promo to the line you ported in and than drop the paid line?
It happened to me last time. 1st csr added a free line ys a paid line which was ported in. 2 days later another Csr fixed it instantly and saying if it was after certain date then thats very complicated to fix.
Note: make sure the csr completely remove the line leaving a memo/note for future reference; not cancel. Then it will not affect your account.
