FYI: A free line can have kickback but in reality it will not discount the line below $0.

T-Mobile is not going to pay anyone to have extra lines. Free is still good however.
True. But that's not always the case. I have had them do kickback on free lines few years ago and just recently. Easier to tell on earlier plan as it was the 2 line + plus 1 free all in plan for $100. With Insider discount it was down to $80. With Kickback on all 3 it went to below $60. Eventually they caught on.

On an older Simple Choice North American plan code (10SCFM4) and could benefit from adding another line for a family member.

I have been hesitant to change plans over the years as this suits our needs well and the price for 4 lines seems reasonable at $121 all in.

Anyone have success in adding a free line to this plan?

Searching the list of eligible plans it shows a plan which is very close to mine (10SCFM4L). My plan does not include the L at the end but everything else is the same.

I know Wiki says Oneplus 8T+ promo cannot be arranged with free add a line, but 611 says they can, essentially a free phone. I have grandfathered Simple Choice. Is this accurate??
Went to a local Tmobile to get a replacement SIM for my old one so i can use it on my free line and asked one of the Reps in there about the phone promos.

He pulled out his sales sheet of all promos and showed it to me. The last column clearly stated not stackable with... containing similar info to the wiki and the OP's list however his promotion list was 5 pages long. He said they can add the phones and had customers specifically ask to have him add the phone to the free line, which he could, despite him warning them its not stackable. However, they still insisted (he also noted their account that they were warned too and pinned it so it shows on top regardless of how many follow up notes).

He is not 100% sure how TMobile will follow up but did say it will most likely the AAL code will be removed from the free line and will become a paid line. Also the restocking fee of $50 is applied regardless if phone has been opened or not as well you only have 14 days to return it - even with in 14 days you will be charged the restocking fee.

My suggestion - make sure your account is noted that you were told that "ITS STACKABLE" and then you can have a supervisor/executive support override if the AAL code if removed and keep both the phone and the line free. YMMV! TMobile executive have absolute override permissions and have been able to do wonders. For me, they added a promo to my account without me even submitting for it (Free iPhone with trade in and new line 6 months ago without me opening a new line nor trading in a phone - long story as to why they did this).

That's my point. Kickback actually resulting in any further discount on a free line is not SOP (standard operating procedure). Your case was a one-off, and it was quashed once discovered.

How does one check what promos are under the account level?
I'd like to know to... when they transitioned my plan over they said they were no longer line promo but account promos... does that mean these promos are no longer associated with lines? I can cancel lines and the promos stay?

Yes. Not easy to get the kickback to apply to actual discount on free lines. It did apply to my account recently for 2 or 3 months. But then I just added this new line and got Kickback booted off all my lines. They said they added it back to my account at account level (which I can't see but have verified with a few different agent that it is there). I'll know if a few days if I still have Kickback and if it still applies to some of my free lines.

I recently added a free line this November when this was FP. Appears to be the same thread, but want to make sure. Is this the same promo?
This is a separate promo. I added a free line in Nov as well and just added a second free line with this Dec promo.
