Tempting, I really enjoyed the performance on these for my last marathon. The carbon plate thing still seems gimmicky to me, but I ran 2:56 and had fresh legs at the finish so maybe there's something to it. Would recommend.
The reviews (warnings) from Runningwarhouse customers and youtube shoe vloggers put me off of this shoe. Durability is reportedly bad, i.e. less than 200 miles with some reviews saying they got as little as 100 good miles out of them. There's no outsole yet the shoe is heavier than every other carbon shoe on the market. The insole is apparently glued in. The forefoot is overly narrow.
I ran in the Carbon Rocket for just a month. Less than 50 miles total and the exposed eva foam in near the toes sheared off on one foot where I toe off. Both sides had excessive wear that I've never seen before in 20 years of running. Ended up returning them for a refund. There was no way the shoes would last even 100 miles. Keep in mind that the Carbon Rocket had better outsole protection than the Carbon X.

It's got a carbon fiber plate built in that is supposed to create a type of bounce that adds speed and efficiency. I don't own a pair but I've been eyeing them for a long time.
i realize this deal is dead and post is old..but putting it out there for anyone else wondering about the same question
have both the shoes [or atleast had]
vapor was
comfortable to wear
gave feeling out slight bounce
but lasted less than 65 miles. collapsed at about mile 18 of a marathon spraining me badly. Limped to the finish
carbon was
not as bouncy
still comfortable
have already lasted 100+ miles
felt better than ever after finishing a full marathon in it
