Apparently it only looks at BofA cards. Where as the Chase 5/24 rule looks at any credit card issued to you, regardless of which company issued it to you.
Edit: Adding the 7/12 and 3/12 rules for BofA higher up to this comment.
"7/12 and 3/12 rule"
"According to this rule, customers with a BofA deposit account will not be approved for new cards if they've opened seven cards (across all issuers) in the last 12 months, while customers without a BoA deposit account will be rejected if they've opened three or more cards in the last 12 months."

Well, they are neck and neck with wells fargo
Chase Bank has a nasty habit of including phantom expenditures in the running account total. (These are purchases that have been removed from the "Pending" list, added to the account's running balance, but have yet to be posted as purchase activity.)
When reconciling my Chase accounts, I've learned to keep track of all my expenditures, check those that are not accounted for, and then deduce which ones are the missing expenses that add up to the running total. Most of the time, it is just a single item, so reconciliation is straightforward. However, when 3 or 4 items are missing, the permutations get complicated.
And it is all so unnecessary. Chase should never update the running total without posting the corresponding activity.
I've complained a half-dozen times about this practice and Chase's customer service refuses to acknowledge that the problem even exists. They either tell me that they'll forward the issue to another department or they give me red herring responses that are factual, but have nothing to do with my complaint ... like a computer that does not understand your question.

damn ... I guess the big 4 banks are competing who can suck the worst...
The only thing to be mindful of is that the expiration date and security code will be different than the ones on the actual card, so if you add to another mobile wallet that doesn't support their automatic process, you will probably have to update the info once the card arrives.
I needed a card with a bonus ASAP but had to go with their travel rewards card, which has $250 bonus after $500 spend though it can only be redeemed towards travel related purchases.
Chase U freedom still my primary card, no problems autopaying the whole balance
it also doesn't work at costco (mastercard)

I enclose a couple of screenshots of the process to assist you in navigating the unintuitive Bank of America website.
1. If you haven't already done so, you need to set up a payment source. See attached screen shot for instructions as how to navigate to the right webpage.
(Setting up the payment source is pretty straightforward, once you find the right page. So, I won't bother giving you any detailed instructions here.)
2. After setting up the payment source, you're ready to begin setting up the autopay option. Click the link labeled "Payment Center".
3. The webpage entitled "Payment Center" will open up.
A list of your accounts will show up. If the account has been set up to be automatically paid already, there will be a green "ON" box filled in on the AutoPay status line. If the acount doesn't have a green "ON" box, then AutoPay is not set up. Proceed to step 4.
4. Click the AutoPay link.
A drop down window appears, entitled "Never Miss a Payment"
5. Click "Set Up AutoPay" at the bottom left corner of the window.
Another window will pop up, entitled "Do you want to pay BANK OF AMERICA - PERSONAL CARD automatically using eBill?"
5. Click the link "Set Up Based on the eBill" at the bottom left corner of the window.
Another window will pop up, entitled "Manage AutoPay for BANK OF AMERICA - PERSONAL CARD"
6. Pay From _ It should be whatever your financial instution payment source is. Fill in your choice, if you have more than one source listed.
7. Delivery By _ Select "Due Date" if you want to pay it on the date the bill is due.
8. Amount _ Select "Statement Balance" if you want to pay the full balance of the bill.
9. Email options _ Fill in the appropriate boxes if you wish to be notified of when the payment is scheduled and when the payment is made.
10. Click the "Start Sending Payments" link at the bottom left corner of the window to execute the autopayment option.
Done!
If this instruction set seems daunting, then do what I did the first two times that I set up an AutoPay with Bank of America. Call their Customer Service and have them walk you through the process.

If you're someone who cares about the interest rate on credit cards, you probably shouldn't have credit cards.
(barring emergency/unexpected life events)
Used properly they're straight profit with 0 interest ever paid.
I am a BofA "Platinum Honors" Rewards Tier. The highest tier they have due to Merrill Lynch retirement funds. 5.25% cashback and 75% boost on rewards. This card qualifies for it.
I just refinanced my main mortgage loan. And zeroed OUT all my credit card debts. I have no revolving credit card debt. I probably lowered my FICO by some points.
I wonder if this is a bad time to open this up because 5.25% is pretty big.
Does this mean if I go buy an iPad Pro say $1000. I get $200 back plus $52.5 cashback. Making that $1000 purchase $747.50 ?
I don't want to open up another card if my FICO is lowered. I am at 740. I also paid off $65k in CC debt. Most of that is BofA non-rewards Cards.
So I will have very low debt-to-income ratio. I want to keep low until September and take out new car lease when I start commuting again. I think by September my FICO will climb back up after paying off all my revolving debt.
Well, you can try, but they probably won't retroactively give you a bonus that you didn't sign up for.

Personally, I'd have a hard time spending $7,917 each and every month. Meanwhile, I have credit cards that earn anywhere from 3% to 6% that cover most of my expenditures without needing to tie up so much cash.
You are wise to plan for your new car lease. Most people don't think that far ahead. As to whether this particular credit card suits your needs, I'd need to have a better picture of your spending habits. My guess? You can do better elsewhere.
EDIT:
My guess of doing better elsewhere has to do with the Platinum Honors tier. As far as the the basic Cash Rewards card (without tying up cash in the tier system), I think that most people can find a use for this card.
For myself, one of the biggest "holes" in my cash back/rewards system has been for Online Purchases. The Cash Rewards card helps me plug that hole.

For most people the issue isn't the spend limit. The issue is whether the credit impacts (credit scores or banking policies - such as Chase's 5/24 policy) make opening up the card worthwhile.
For others, the issue is more mundane. Are the permanent features worth the administrative hassle of keeping track of an additional account?
