I assume you mean Windows laptop?

This is a real laptop, a chromebook laptop. Not just that, this is the top rated Chromebook for 2020, the favorite of many Chromebook experts.

I don't have this Chromebook. I have a Lenovo 100e I got for $100 in 2019...it kicks butt. I couldn't imagine the awesome battery life, the rapid battery charging, the super fast start up, the consistent reliability of ChromeOS and the Chromebook devices, would make it my favorite overall portable device to use until now.

I just got the Lenovo Flex 5 Chromebook from CostCo for $350....just amazing device. Super fast and responsive, just a pleasure to use. I feel free to use my Chromebooks anywhere, for long periods of time, without needing to be near a charger or outlet, unlike my Windows laptops which must be used close to an outlet most of the time.

I have a Windows 10 - XPS 13 (9360), i7 CPU, 16gb RAM, 512 GB SSD. I also have a Windows 10 pro - Surface Pro 6, i7 CPU, 16gb RAM, 512 SSD. My Chromebook is my preferred device over those Windows devices, 90-95% of the time. I only use those devices now when I need specific Windows based apps.

Windows 10 updates have become more bloated and buggy over time, and Microsoft forces unwanted stuff down our throats, like disabling connected standby, which kills my Windows PC batteries in sleep mode. Wifi now takes 30 seconds - 1 minute to reconnect from sleep. Battery life on Windows PCs suck. I had to disable silent install of Windows Store bloated apps to my Windows PCs, eating up valuable data caps and taking up storage space on my PCs, all so Microsoft could make more money off of partnerships.

Starting with Windows 10 version 1607 Anniversary Update, Windows will silently automatically download and install suggested apps like Age of Empires: Castle Siege, Asphalt 8: Airborne, Candy Crush Soda Saga, FarmVille2: Country Escape, Flipboard, Minecraft: Windows 10 edition, Netflix, Pandora, Twitter, World of Tanks: Blitz, etc... from the Windows Store without any confirmation by default. All to make Microsoft some more marketing money!!

Did I mention battery life on my Windows devices are horrendous? I can see the battery life drain minute by minute. Windows 10 is a bloated piece of junk over time with all of the bugs and unwanted features from Microsoft.

I now prefer to use my Chromebooks all day, every day, since I never have to worry about bugs, sleep issues, or batter life. Chromebooks just work, all day, every day. Super fluid, super fast, super lasting.

This Acer Spin 713 seems to be the highest ranked Chromebook so far. If I didn't love my Flex 5 and my cheap $100 Lenovo 100e so much, I'd splurge on the Acer Spin 713.

Fortunately for me, the Flex 5 is amazing to use, and my beater $100 Lenovo 100e is still my portable favorite to use.

I bet whoever gets the Acer 713 will love it.

Prefer chromebook. Less bugs, faster updates, no preinstalled vendor malware, etc.

Each has strengths and weaknesses. Since my laptop is a secondary device i just websurf on, chrome is good for me. Like the android apps support too. I can get yahoo sports app on android and stream free nfl games on chrome in tablet mode, but i cant in windows. Thats a big loss for me.

Cheap chromebooks are the same as cheap windows, slow with trash screens. A bad experience.

I ended up with a samsung galaxy book flex alpha windows laptop, i5/8gb for 585 (after mainning chromebooks the last several years) but tbh i would probably rather have this. But oh well its done now.

If you use it for browser and play YouTube, it's good for that purpose only. not for work or study.

Wrong again. Chromebooks are great for enterprises since they are pretty resistant to viruses, and can run Parallels for Windows apps. And students can benefit from the super long battery life and fast performance.

You seem to be quite uninformed about Chromebooks.

Fyi: It is a pain to print from the Chromebooks I own. End up having to print from my phone, windows, or Mac. My wife does love the chromebook I bought for her -- the Acer r11.

Quick question, did you buy it in store? Thinking of making a trip to my Costco today, but don't know if this is an online only item

My costco's (Pearland & sugarland TX) have it in store, on display.

Those of us who got the acer last month for $20 more, you can get adjustment now.

Hmm Lenovo just lowered the price on their i5 15 inch Chromebook to $499. Even has 4K screen. However they don't have them in stock any more. This is tempting, but would rather have the better Lenovo screen. Guess I'll have to wait.

I heard that the 4K screen draws a ton of energy, so battery life is severely impacted (to 4 hours or so).

I'm not sure a laptop needs 4K screen. I'd rather have a FHD screen and great battery life than an amazing 4k screen with mediocre battery life.

By all accounts, this Acer 713 seems to hit the sweet spot of performance, 3:2 display, battery life, and price.
