I see the same looking stand today from ryobi for 30$ dropped from 60$ i think I bought the other style from ridgid with wheels for 70$ from directoolsoutlet like 2-3 months ago didn't use yet. Was thinking this should be cheaper without wheels???

I have a Craftsman Miter Saw stand and it's tubing construction looks sturdier than what the full sized Ridgid stand looks to be made of. This compact Ridgid stand looks to be made of sturdier tubing like my Craftsman... Maximum capacity of this stand is 400 lbs... Maximum capacity of the full sized stand others have posted links to is 300 lbs... I just ordered this Ridgid to take advantage of the price...will either give as a gift or use as a side outfeed or extension table utilizing it's full length and rollers...

I have both stands, the dolly one and this one.

This one is by far my favorite. It's compact and lighter. But it's built better. The dolly one has issues with their tightening knobs and they fall off rendering the arms useless.
They both take a few seconds to set up, not much different.

They both can hold the tool even packed up, and both roll. The dolly one I stored horizontally with the tool, this one I store vertically but it can be tipsy if not set right.

This one is new, came out in the fall. You can see they made improvements on past designs.
Funny you say that. My tightening knob fell off. The cheap plastic nut broke. I keep it in a baggie. I do like it though and the compact version here may be better for my cramped garage.

This one looks like a good choice if you don't move your saw very much (or minimally). I had a similar Dewalt stand (no wheels though) that was nice and sturdy.

I replaced it with the Ridgid dolly stand, and I couldn't be happier. I store mine in the garage and then wheel it to the driveway or the side of the house for cutting. The large wheels make transport simple, and my wife or daughter could fold the thing if needed without any difficulty because it's well balanced. It folds EASILY for vertical storage.

Just bought the Ridgid Universal Mitre saw stand from HD for 129$. Anybody have experience with both and can explain the benefits of each?
Both are very good stands. The universal one is great since you can keep the saw on it, super easy to assemble, big wheels are easier to go up/down stairs and haul around. If you have the room to store that stand with the saw attached, it is a great solution, and awesome value when you can get it in the $99-130 range.

This stand stores more compact, and I think has a greater weight capacity. However, it, like all other stands of this type, can be finicky on transporting with the saw on it, and storing. For my needs this type of stand is the only one I can use - I don't have the room in the garage to store the larger universal stand, or any stand with a saw attached. With this I can tuck it away in a corner, keep the saw on a shelf, and I just have to reassemble when I need it. Since I only need to use a miter saw every once in a while for projects I don't need the quick access.

I have the larger version, and i love it. The self rise makes it so much easier to set up. I hate stands with folding legs now.

Doesn't it have a lifetime warranty?

This is not it guys. this is the shitty compact one. 99 price can buy u the full size one during sales
Or buy the full size one (factory reconditioned) for $79 with free shipping through Direct Tools during one of their 25 or 30% off sales. The full size one with the wheels is great and fits my Dewalt 12" sliding miter saw perfectly.

I have the stand you bought. The wheels are key, it makes moving it from the garage to the shed very easy. For an additional $30 its a no brainer to go with the Universal.

+3 Because I actually have 3 of the large wheel dolly style! I like them a lot, but I've never had a different style...
The Ridgid Universal Mobile Miter Saw Stand with Mounting Braces is the first one I've owned. It makes cutting a breeze. Only downside is taking up space in the garage but it's an acceptable tradeoff.

Where is this even available? Link on HD? The one I found on HD with the same design shows an MSRP of $220

Edit : my bad, I should have actually been asking how often the mobile stand with wheels actually drops down to a hundred bucks.

Has Rigid discontinued this stand already? HD hasn't had it for like a month and they don't show it on their own site anymore.
