There is no return window for receivers with Costco. Receivers are excluded in the 90-day return window that applies to other electronics.

Sounds like a continuation from Christmas sales.

I picked this up and have been using for about a month. While I have not seen any video issues, I occasionally get a lag of ~10 sec before the audio kicks on when watching specific content. I have experienced a few other things such as specific settings not saving and sound mixing with my center does not always sound perfect. Thick could be blamed in the content though.

Since owning it, I have received 2 firmware updates labeled as 'bug fixes' so at least they are trying to do the right thing.

Sometimes I think this sounds very warm and satisfying... Other times I miss my 11 yr old Onkyo.

Over, my satisfaction is about 7/10.

Is it worth $330? Given what else is out there, yeah. But just keep in mind it may take Yamaha some time to fix what should not have been released as broken.
I purchased at my local Costco for the same price back in Nov. The Yamaha AVR runs at least 6-8 hours everyday in our household with no issues whatsoever.

Yamaha TSR-700 AVR (currently on firmware 1.26)
LG CX 65" OLED (currently on firmware 3.21.09)
Xfinity XG1v4 4K STB
Oppo BDP-83 Blu-ray player
Zeskit 8K high speed HDMI cables all the way around

Definitive Technology ProSub 800
Klipsch Quintet SL 5.0 Speakers

Logitech Harmony One Remote
I hope I don't jinx things, but I've owned this receiver for almost 2 months now with zero issues. With all the negative issues with hdmi arc and 4k etc I thought I was rolling the dice. Nope, it's been running great.

I did buy a few new hdmi cables just in case lol

It's 7.2. I currently have mine 5.1.2 with atmos.

Two sub outputs does not mean it uses two pre-outputs. This uses one pre-out and splits the signal to two outputs.

Probably won't matter for most people but it matters for those that wish to adjust levels/EQ/time delay for each sub independently.

I had bought receiver and the sound was not that great out of it compared to my 7+ year old Onkyo. That along with audio cutting several times was enough to have me return it within 2 weeks. I had it hooked up to a CX OLED with all my inputs to the TV then ARC/eARC to receiver. It got 2 firmware updates in the period I owned it but still would not work consistently. I would save your money and just wait until a better product is out.

That's been my experience too: 2 months with no issues. I'm happy with my purchase, especially for the price.

I've had zero issues with this receiver. In fact the audio dropouts I was experiencing in the native apps from my Sony 950G were completely eliminated once I installed the new receiver. I think the sound is better than on my 5-year-old Yamaha.

On a side note, I bought the receiver because I wanted to upgrade my system to Dolby Atmos and added two ceiling speakers to my 5.1 setup. The addition of the two ceiling speakers creates a sound bubble which is truly immersive. The cockpit scenes in the movie Midway are amazing as you hear Jets going overhead and from side to side.

Even my dogs have taken notice. When I watch movies they are looking around the room trying to identify where the sound is coming from.

For those that were on the fence for this last sale because of all the issues it has, some of the annoying issues like color banding and audio dropouts were resolved with the latest 1.26 update this month. Doesn't address 2.1 or the 120 htz issues but it's a start.

I think I will use my old amp, or maybe buy a receiver that doesn't make my bookshelves, woofer, and center sound handicapped. The 7850 for me is not worth the price. Soundwise , mediocre. The features work fine. Can Anyone recommend a better Amp or receiver?

I have the Yamaha, I really hate that it's an on screen menu only. Can't make major adjustments using the LCD on the unit. I have to turn the TV on and to the specific input

There is a setting that shows the input on the LCD. It's kinda hidden and I don't remember where to set it, but it's really helpful. Someone gave directions for it in the old thread.

Mine had audio drop out issues, even after an update. A month later, I checked the website and no other updates available, but the unit found a second update. It has worked flawlessly since.

Just weighing in as someone who bought this in November. It's been a great unit for me with no issues. I'm using it via earc to an LG CX. My hdmi 2.1 devices are still connected directly to the TV, but I do have a shield hooked up through the receiver that is working fine.

AV newb here. If you have a 5.1.2 setup on this, and use pandora/spotify to play music, does the music play through all of the speakers, including the ceiling? And if so are you able to manually isolate the music output to play through a specific configuration?

In context, I would like the overhead speakers to be able to play music, as I have an open concept kitchen/living room.

Thank you

Hey just posted a separate comment, but yeah I'm running earc with most of my other devices connected directly to tv (XSX, PC w/ 3080) with no issues. Not sure what TV you have but also the LG CX remote integrates with it flawlessly and haven't had any issues with it not powering off or on with the TV, not recognizing volume changes, etc.

Thank you. Sony x950h. I know my denon integrates with it using standard Arc
