I have the older version of this and while the battery is not meant to be user serviceable, replacing it yourself is both easy and cheap. A new battery is about $15 on Amazon and replacing it just involves using a shim to pop the case open. ifixit.com has a guide.
Your advice is still good advice. I'm just saying it's not the end of the world if you do have to replace the battery.
This same unit was on SD a couple weeks ago for $108 shipped direct from FLIR. Received mine before Christmas, works great btw.
You can use the real deal ( Flir or Fluke) for free ( SF for me or check your Utilty Co. ) https//pge.myturn.com/library/ Free tool loan!

I bought the "pro" model not the cheaper pro "LT" model on fleabay for 250 (IOS version for iphone).. It had a flaw and was not connecting.. I then bought another one and I was hoping to see where the studs were behind the sheet rock / wall.. I was unable to do that.. I thought the device was pretty darn neat but being that it could not see the studs behind the wall (was advertised that it could) in combination with the snafu of the first one I bought.. . I went ahead and returned it... did not quite meet expectations..
The first gen units suffered from a horrible clicking noise as it took a temperature reading once every few seconds. Not sure if these still suffer from the same flaw or not. The clicking was so bad that I sent mine back as it wouldn't work for my intended purpose. Kinda hard to use it for spot and stalk hunting if your prey can hear you.
Just received my Flir One Pro in the mail yesterday. $255 before tax. Found a random coupon code that appears to give an extra 15% off the entire Flir One line at Flir.com.

The Flir One Pro is $399 at flir.com. How did your 15% coupon reduce it to $255?
Hmm i can really use this... has anyone tried hooking this up to a Drone? i'd like to get some data on my semi sloped roof that doesn't have a hatch to access it.
