The air mattress is lighter and easier to carry but I would not include it with backpacking trips. The cot is bulkier to carry and I would also bring a cushion like a yoga mat to improve the sleeping quality. The cot is way faster to assemble / disassemble / bagging than the air mattress. If someone is willing to carry either for me during camping trips, I would choose the cot.

Yeah I have no idea why this isn't the first thing they teach. It's specifically designed for this, that's why the corners don't match up so you can easily step on the part sticking out to put it together under a lot of tension. It's one of those small things that once you realize it's so obvious but you'd never figure it out unless it was pointed out first

There is a Big & Tall version that's 84" long, but for a much higher price. So, feet dangling better than paying twice as much or more.

Honestly, I see a lot of truth in this statement. I know of several people that use camping equipment and return it there after. Not something I partake in, just be aware
