Few days ago , same card had "5% cash back on grocery store purchases (not including Target or Walmart purchases) on up to $12,000 spent in your first year of account opening"
I have two Freedoms and a Freedom Unlimited. Can I get this card and the signup bonus?

Unfortunately, it's likely you were denied. Don't wait the 30 days and instead call the Chase Reconsideration line (888-270-2127). If you speak with a human and tell them your credit history, why you want the card (E.g., you're excited to get into the Chase ecosystem), and how you'll be using it (E.g., you have upcoming home improvement spend), you have a shot at getting approved. If that doesn't work, call back the next day and try again. And again. With luck, you'll eventually get the right agent who will be sympathetic to your request. If you do get approved, make sure you ask for the card to be expedited to you. 1-day shipping is free if you ask for it. Good luck! 😁👍
I wasn't rejected. They wanted me to answer some questions. I got a call the next day. After I did that over the phone, I got an email telling me I was approved a few hours later. Not sure why they weren't just upfront with that.
That's great to hear! Thankfully you didn't have to resort to calling the reconsideration line (like I did a few years ago). Hopefully, someone will find that information useful and turn that rejection into an approval. Take care!
LOL.... I have freedom unlimited and the regular freedom card. After application I was instantly approved, so fast I was unsure I read it correctly. Great! Not so great....they gave me a $500 limit!!! WTFfffffff
to avoid the hard pull for asking to have more I called and transferred credit limit from one card to this one so I can use it....lol. I have five chase cards now, three being non business cards. I wonder of they have a cumulative credit limit which caused the $500 single card limit.
FYI, according to the Chase website, the 5% gas offer is actually ending soon. Hopefully it will rotate back to the 5% groceries offer because I work from home and the gas bonus is not best for my situation. Best case scenario for me is that the offer expires at the end of this month and the new offer begins starting in October. Hope that helps!
Could anybody tell if this Chase Freedom Flex card can be upgraded to a Saphire Preferred without a hard pull ?
Yes, you should be able to product change, but I don't recommend it because you won't get the sign up bonus (which is currently 60K Ultimate Rewards points, but has been as high as 100K). In two years, I'll product change my Preferred to a no annual fee card, and apply for either another Preferred or a Reserve (depending on if I'll want to go big on International travel) to take advantage of another big Sapphire sign up bonus. Hopefully that helps!

I already got the Preferred and the sign up. If this card can be upgraded(if needed in future), would like to close existing preferred and reduce the number of cards. Will the UR points be transferred 1-1 ?

Yes, you won't lose the UR points as long as you maintain a Chase account. You can use the "Combine Points" feature to move your points from one card to another. How long ago you did you apply for the preferred? You're allowed one Sapphire sign up bonus every four years. And instead of closing the card, I recommend product changing to a no-annual-fee card instead, so that you maintain your average age of accounts, credit limit, and # of open accounts. Then, just use that card occasionally to ensure it doesn't get auto closed due to inactivity.
I don't see the 5% gas bonus when I look at my account online. Do I need to contact Chase about this? I applied when that offer was posted on the application page.
Just got my card in the mail. I have a bunch of medical bills, so reaching the $200 bonus threshold will be really easy to meet, and will help with even more medical bills.

When we product change, do we get signup bonus as well i.e. i currently have sapphire and want to downgrade to flex , so will I get $200 signup bonus?

It's actually been live since January! But, unless you visit the Chase site frequently, it's easy to miss it 😁👍
