Frankly have had far more issues with new LG oled panels getting burn in very quickly. One Samsung had some buzzing issues. But I've never had an LCD simply die and refuse to turn on. Very abnormal.
Guess what impressed all our guests over the years:
Industry leading Black levels?
The super fast 240Hz panel?
Micro-dimming contrast?
Active 3D and LED edge backlighting?
None of the above...it was the size. 42" - 50" were still the standard..... No one had a 75" back then and it blew people away.
I still use it as my main TV!
Can you even imagine? It's only 1080p and I like the picture better than every other 4k in the house. Well, that...and also I've left it on 24-7 for over 5 years and it hasn't missed a beat with zero burn in.
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
How else do you explain the Plasma fan club or Vinyl lovers?
Did someone say plasma! Lol.. We Have a Sony 65" 930d as our main tv and while I've been 95% happy with it, I still have my probably 16 year old 42" Panasonic plasma in the basement and I have to say, I've always been extremely happy with the picture quality. I did have Best Buy calibrate it back then (what did I know) and it's still holding up.
If they had a "public opinion" rating that gauged the impression of 100 untrained, "normals" just comparing TVs on basic settings, that would be useful.
People tout OLED over size all the time, but size is by far the most significant element for an immersive viewing experience. Virtually every TV is 4k now and they ALL look infinitely better than a CRT, if you remember them lol.
I was really disappointed because the 7300 had all the numbers going for it to be a great monitor, but was just terrible in that regard.
Negative. CRTs are still better than most LCDs in black levels. They destroy LCDs in motion, and viewing angles too. Only thing LCDs got better are resolution and obviously the newer tech with dolby vision, HDR and thinner/lighter weight.
Plasmas were the modern day CRT and is why I'll still take my 2013 panny plasma or a kuro, over 95% of LCDs on the market today. Too bad they are discontinued because people see a overly bright picture in a warehouse and think lcd is better.

Ummm you are part of the "normal people" that other dude was talking about.
LCDs don't "burn in", and plasmas shitted on almost every LCD tv when they were still being made, aside from the sharp elite LCD, which I still own, but it cost 8k at the time lol.

Hey thanks but I have no idea about this stuff. What's the difference? Unfortunately the qled model you posted the deal expired. I've been looking to get a new tv for around this price. Thanks

How so?
Plasmas were the modern day CRT and is why I'll still take my 2013 panny plasma or a kuro, over 95% of LCDs on the market today. Too bad they are discontinued because people see a overly bright picture in a warehouse and think lcd is better.
The simple fact is that even today, most screens are undersized versus people's preferred (and the recommended) viewing angle. 70" gets you about 8 feet. That's not very far - most people sit more like 12+ feet from their TV. Once TVs hit the 90-100" range, size will start diminishing as a factor.
Cons: didnt like the smart version of it as i continue to have some problems with google assistant and alexa on turning the tv in and off or in short the voice control , youre better off using the remote on this tv.
No upscaling.
Had problem with playing netflix couple of time where the audio keeps playing and the picture keeps changing between the home menu screen and netflix for several times so i have to un plug the tv to resolve this.
Positive: price , when i was going to return it, retailer just gave my money back and i kept the tv
Any input? - I swear i dont to buy outdoor tv...freaking expensive
BTW, non-OLED LG TVs are lower quality than mid-to-high end "no name brand" TVs.
High quality = high price
Local dimming helps increase contrast with black levels by turning off the black light in black areas. The HDMI port is, an extra hdmi port, and the higher end body is really only if you care. The bezels are like slightly slimmer and look a little sleeker but once you have it you won't notice--they're both modern TVs.
