Bad: glare on touch screen (i probably wouldnt use this outside..), battery isn't great but good for this class of laptop, you better grab the rechargeable pen off the bottom of the shipping box before you throw it away

It's not ymmv, but yes, it's not manufacturer warranty. I'm ok with that.
I'll be returning the Lenovo ideapad 3 I bought from Walmart couple days ago with similar specs but ntsc screen. this one is touchscreen, looks like ips panel, usb-c port (capable of charging), backlit keyboard with same processor, memory and ssd specs. checks all the right boxes for me at this price point.
I'm not sure if the memory is upgradable, but 8gb should be enough for my use any way.
To answer my own question, RAM can be upgraded to 12GB max.

The laptop was working fine, then closed it and plugged in to recharge, and it stopped powering on. let it sit overnight, tried charging again, still won't power on.
I've had good luck with other Acer laptops, but this one was a dud.
