Fender increased price on Player Telecaster 2/1, $749 MAP now.
I feel like all new guitars have seen a price increase if they aren't American made, at least in the US. Did something happen? Squier guitars are selling for 50-100 more than I remember.

Labor costs overseas have gone up. One of the main reasons PRS moved their SE line out of Korea and to Indonesia. Even their Indonesia guitars have gone up. Plus the pandemic probably factors into it, too...people with too much time on their hands are more into hobbies now and they're willing to pay a bit more for things like guitars.

I'd go with a used Boss Katana 50. Immensely popular. Tons of videos online.

Especially since you could get a MIA for under a grand just a couple years ago.

I know prices on everything have gone up, but at this point if you're willing to spend full price on a MIM you might as well just buy a used MIA for the same price.

FWIW I finagled $100 off a MIM P Bass right before Christmas. $600 seems much more appropriate considering the quality/finish.
Where can you get a used US made tele for $750?

Not a Telecaster, but since the Player Strats usually follow the same pricing....I was able to get a brand new Player HSS PF for almost 30% off MAP by calling a store a few weeks ago. The MAP on that now went up from $729 to $779, which would take it up past 30%. I remember buying my first MIM Strat for only $279, 25 years ago...crazy how much they are now, and the MIM back in that era were actually better built than they are now.
'92 MIM Strat is still my main guitar. I tend to buy new electronics every 10 years since I'd spend a LOT on a similar quality guitar. Once I hit the 30 year mark I'll replace the frets. I just ordered a HSS gen4 / shawbucker loaded pickguard...more than the guitar cost in 92. My 10 year old vintage noiseless had a pickup die. But when I priced new Strats I almost pissed myself. Even the Squires are getting pricey.

I got a 2015 Strat for $630 brand new from a similar Adorama deal back in 2016 or so.
Not sure we are going to see prices like that any time again.

I'd do an Adorama Player Jazzmaster at this price with either dual humbuckers or a vintage set of single coils like the CME exclusive. Currently maxed out on garden variety Strats and Teles.

I just checked Guitar Center site for prices of MIM Player Strats - they start from $750 and many are $780, add tax to that and you are shelling out over $800 for a decent basic Strat.

I'd rather get American made used Strat for this kind of money.

I picked up a MIM Nashville Power Telecaster Deluxe in 2008 and it's more guitar than most people will ever need. Think I paid $700 at the time, but it has mostly American parts on it. They became semi-classics and they're selling used for the same price as they were new.

MIM Fenders are nothing to sneeze at laugh out loud

This item comes up here every now and then so it seems to be a somewhat regular deal from Adorama. They usually also have a matching stratocaster available as well, so if you're more a strat type of person you might want to see if that is available.
