Nice try at trolling. I won a pair of AirPod Max. Amazing headphones and seamless to use, I love them. They sound good but compared to my modded monoprice M1060, they can't sustain the fight especially for precision. This headphone is in another league that my cheap monoprice so I seriously doubt the AirPod max has a chance. The only way it would win is if you like the AirPod sound signature and overlook pure performance

I don't think you can use otl with these without a resistor box. Hybrid should sound good if they have enough power.

I've been thinking going ZMF. And sell my Arya's even though I love them. On hybrid with a little EQ sounds really good.

I keep switching from that to HD6XX on Darkvoice. I have a D90 as source thinking going Bifrost 2 to add more flavor to the sound

I have a bifrost multibit and honestly, I can't tell the difference as far as DACs go. Honestly the DAC is the last thing I'd chase in your chain.

I've not heard the arya so I can't give an opinion, but the best vocals I've heard is the 6xx. They just sound very organic.

Yes. Congrats on buying what as arguably the worst headphone stage of any modern receiver. Not only is it a simple opamp, but its so craptastic they added like 400-500 ohms of resistance to the output to protect the circuit from shorting out if the user inserted/removed the plug while music was playing loud.

Believe it or not, I have a LG G8 Thinq phone with a built in DAC and it does a very nice job of driving these headphones. I also have the Topping A90 to compare to, and the Thinq phone compares well with a bass eq adjustment.

My other late model Amazon Fire tablet will drive this with a volume booster application. These are high impedence, so you do end up turning the volume up a lot without an amp..

These aren't high impedance. People consider headphones high impedance at 150ohms plus. These are 50ohms. The efficiency rating matters more than impedance. People really need to stop confusing impedance and efficiency at 1mw.

I've just ordered one, was fighting it since fall 2020. Going to drive with eMotiva BasX, my other amp is Asgard 2 which won't do as I understand. Even eMotiva isn't ideal from what I could find on other forums, but I can always return this cans if I don't like the sound.
