  • Make sure you install the S2721DGF drivers from dell and use the .icc profile that comes with said drivers.
  • Also very important to set the color mode to 10bit from 8bit in your GPU display control.

Anyone know how this one that's $50 cheaper matches up? It's 32", 2k, no g-sync. Does that matter much if I have an nvidia 3080? Apologies in advance for the noobie questions. 🧐

I'm familiar with this model (I own the 75hz version), but
the M27Q is still $100 cheaper, which is pretty significant considering they appear to have nearly identical specs (the M27Q can push 170hz, maybe this one can as well?). I'm less interested in what's popular and more interested in determining if the $100 premium is actually worth it to me, and I imagine other people (aside from the person who downvoted me for simply posing the question) feel similarly.

In your opinion, which specifications justify the additional $100 for the Dell? I'm not trying to sway anybody's opinion; I'm trying to determine if I'm simply missing something obvious.
The M27Q has a BGR pixel configuration instead of the usual RGB pixel configuration. I assume that's how they are saving money. While still a great monitor, people have had issues with it on certain things. A solution to this would be to flip your monitor upside down and just change the display settings in Windows to turn the image lol.

I have this monitor. It's amazing and I got it on sale through Dell a while a few months ago.

I have the M27Q, which is why I'm so curious as to why people seem to think this is better, but aren't providing much in the way of explanation. I find it hard to believe there could possibly be a $50 difference in quality much less $100 (but I'm open to being educated otherwise).

It seems much of this is based on scarcity, but I've also seen more than a few people confuse the M27Q with the lower-end G27Q, so that could also be a factor. Regardless, I'm highly skeptical that this display is better than the M27Q "in every way" lol--actually, I've yet to see any significant difference between them that didn't favor the M27Q. But like I said: I'd very much like to know if there are any.
M27Q uses the BGR pixel configuration instead of the RGB configuration. It can cause blurry text on certain applications that only display the RGB configuration because that's what the majority of monitors use.

I was on the fence between this Dell or the LG 27GN850 but my gut is now telling me to go with the Dell. Wish me luck on the panel lottery.

I am thinking about the 32" model as well. The big downside is the slower response time for the 32". Also it has a VA panel instead of IPS. Some people like VA, some don't. But in terms of performance, this one should be better.

Fair enough--DisplayHDR400 isn't as good as HDR10 in some use cases. I'm unconvinced that this is worth $100+ premium unless your primary use case is video/graphics production or viewing cinema, in which case you probably shouldn't be buying a gaming monitor capable of refresh rates that you'll only ever experience while either speed-scrolling websites or playing first-person shooters with a the top of the line graphics card.

HDR10 on a 70" 4K OLED? Sure, and the cost will be relatively evenly distributed in the pricetag. In a gaming monitor? It's going to increase the price by 40%.

Having tinkered with it extensively, I'd personally rather have the KVM/Picture-In-Picture/Picture-By-Picture (and the extra money). But that's just me.

I have the m27q and it's a great monitor and my rtx 3070 pushes the FPS on 1440p 170hz... just recently ordered the dell because I want the 10bit and it just came on sale. I'm returning the m27q if you don't mine less color I would go with the m27q which is a great monitor check hardware unboxing he has a in-depth review

This is a legitimate complaint, but one that can be remediated within Windows/Linux. It is a potential annoyance however (and if you have the extra money I guess it makes sense to pay the $100+ premium--assuming you don't care about the KVM--to avoid it altogether), but at 1440p if you're noticing blurry text at the subpixel level.. you may be too close to the screen. I'd be interested in looking at them side by side--that's really the only way I would be able to come to any meaningful determination; the human visual system is far too susceptible to placebo for me to trust anything other than an A/B test, but I'd be interested in hearing your feedback when the display arrives & I'll check out the review!

Honestly just get this one. It's 1440 165hz and really rock solid. I've bought two now.
