Thanks
How much do you watch your TVs? Still have an 32" Olevia purchased on like 2006 that works good as new minus some minor buzzing from the built in speakers. Don't think I've ever had a TV actually " break". 5-7 years seems like a very short lifespan if you only watch it like 10 hours a week or so on average.

I concur sir.
In our game room, I'm still rocking an OG Samsung "Touch of Color" 120hz 46in LCD that I got when Circuit City was closing down for $1300...still a gorgeous picture and going strong and that was 10+ yrs ago. Heck my 1st HD tv, a Samsung 50in DLP monitor (i.e. no tuner) circa 2006 just died last month in a lightning storm....or does the old adage they don't make them like they used to apply now?

It's listed as a 2020 model on Samsung and Bestbuy and has been out for about 6 months. So 2020 model but may not be replaced soon.
I must have not had enough coffee this morning. You are totally correct. RU = 2019, TU = 2020, And "A" will be 2021.

Yup, but I would like a 100" or 120" screen in the theater room, which are out of reach for normal people.

Man, I was looking at this TV last week online. Can't find hardly much about it though. It doesn't seem to be the greatest TV, apparently IPS not a good thing? I'm still getting up to speed before a purchase. I was leaning Sony 900H though, albeit at a higher cost. Hoping some 2021 Sonys push the 950 down though, that would be ideal.

My Samsung and LG plasma just celebrated its 9th birthday!

No issues with the Samsung.

Small issue with the LG capacitor going bad. $5 fix

Yeah, I was annoyed I couldn't find it either. But from what I can tell, this TV has only very recently come out, despite the TU model name.

It's probably similar to the RU. Just a new model name with a larger size. I'd expect similar performance.

Not really comparable IMO - even though 86" is great, it's still way smaller than the 120" you can get from a projector. You might not need it, but it's great when you do have the space/situation for it.

The limited utility of the projector (needing a dark area, mounting, etc.) is the real downside, but on size there's no comparison.

Good points.
But I'll add that movies/television have been such trash the last few years I don't feel a projector setup is even worth it anymore due to lack of quality viewing material. Super heroes movies are not my cup of tea.

FYI this comes with 4000 Samsung Rewards points โ€” no clue what you can maximize with that but at first glance I see them offering 32gb micro SD cards for 2200.

Interesting, when adding to cart through Samsung app, the 4 year plan is $500. When adding through the desktop browser, the 4 year plan is $170.
