By my math, if a person waited until right before this offer expires (4/9), their 4 month subscription would last through the Summer Olympics. I don't believe they have announced what Olympics coverage will be broadcast on Peacock yet but it is expected that Peacock will have a significant amount of Olympics coverage.

These streaming services are such a scam. With so many out there now, its actually cheaper to just get cable.

How does the content compare to the hulu $2/month deal that's posted every November?

I'm done with all this nonsense. Say no to all these streaming.subscriptions.

As for sharing accounts, enjoy it while you can. I think most of these companies are going to start cracking down soon. Just a hunch.

I know a lot of networks have been doing this and for a while. But for some reason it felt really personal when Peacock decided to remove Office from Netflix. I want to watch Office for the 20th time, but also don't want to give my money to Peacock.
Comcast is the worst. I may be eligible, but haven't checked. Even if free, may not use it.

I'm with you, there is a trick though just get a roku player and YouTube too roku apps and basically you got ghetto cable lol, I just went in on the target deal because I got an LG 4K and their apps (pretty much none) makes it useless. I thought about using the PS4 but having the TV on and a PS4 might cost more energy, and the PS4 doesn't have ghetto cable like that. anyhow if you got a chance go watch how the Roku app works it's literally the closest thing to free cable ( movies )in my opinion , I think you can even download the library app hoopla and that has movies like netflix too , I saw deadpool in there . Yay I'm tired of these services too, only got amazon prime thus prime video but I don't watch movies like that , just need news/weather/etc. Also the Roku app you can put in any zip code and it shows all the local tv stations , news anywhere , i find it worth it for $25 for the 4k roku device, haven't used my LG TV in months... I really hate their remote too it's like worst than a remote from 1999

I have found myself/family streaming peacock content more than all the others combined(netflix, hulu, prime) with, The Office, Parks and Rec, and now Modern Family, it's always on. Plus as a EPL fan, it's a must own. Had to sideload peacock on my firestick, but that's easy enough.

I'm enjoying the content but the ads are super intrusive.
I'm guessing it is similar to Hulu, very repeatable, most are 60 seconds and appear often.
The worst part for me, I would love to find a sketch on a particular SNL show.
You can't scrub the video (at least I couldn't find a way), so you fast forward to the next sketch, but then get served 60 seconds of ads again, ok, let me try the next sketch, nope, ads again.
If you could scrub and see a thumbnail, I would happily watch the ad to get to where I want.
They should know not to run an ad if you just watched one a minute ago, Is that hard?
Also, it seems the SNLs are the 1 hour edited versions, not the full show as I was expecting.

Does it work well? I'll have to do the same.

Cable was $140 a month when I cancelled it 6 years ago. Who knows how much it's up to now

Not to mention nothing on from 2 am to 9 am with everyone doing paid programming. On Sunday, it ran well into the afternoon. Then you had Viacom stretching 30 minute episodes of King of Queens and Reba to 40 minutes, so they could squeeze in more commercials.

I'll stick with streaming
6 years ago, I could get it for $99 (thru their rep at best buy), cable + tv + a premium
Now I pay $161 incl tax triple play (I don't use their phone, but this pkg was cheapest) 300mbs internet 1.2 TB cap, expanded basic tv, including an M card rental. I use bubbleupnp/vlc to watch on tablets with it. I own my cable modem. 2yr contract.
I got peacock + 1/mo for 1 month free trial through prime, but xfinity doesn't let you watch a lot of the series, only the first show, so I have to use prime app on my phone with chromecast. Xfinity phone app sux.
Just ordered google tv with netflix. I hope that picks up xfinity set top box channels somehow.

Yes it does work well. I did recently have to download an updated apk. But once you've sideloaded an app, the process is simple.

It's not a scam, it's just a la carte TV, which is how cable always should've been. Nobody actually watches hundreds of channels, so it made no sense to bundle them all together like that. Also, these streaming services don't nickle & dime you with ever increasing, hidden taxes & fees. Some people don't watch live sports and don't like paying regional sports fees & broadcast TV fees every month. Not to mention, leasing cable boxes sucks!

People need to quit whining about more choices and just subscribe to the ones they like the most. You aren't supposed to subscribe to all of them...

Idk if it's been posted, but Amex has an offer for $4.99 cash back for three months.
It's been mentioned, but I believe that offer may expire in a month or so, but it would still work fine with this, it's $4.99 off a charge of $4.99 or more up to three times, so if they charge $9.99 you'll only be out $5.00. Of course if you have that offer you would have been better off signing up a few months ago to just get three months for free, or even just signing up now for one month for free if you can binge what you want in a month.

This is the big advantage in a house with a dozen televisions. When I had my house built a little over 8 years ago I had the builder run some HDMI cables to be able to split some cable boxes and have the video in multiple locations from a single cable box, it wasn't an elegant solution but worked for what we needed (e.g., the television in the master bathroom and master bedroom used the same cable box). Now we just have Roku on every tv, and YouTube TV, despite the quickly escalating price, is still better than cable ever was, especially with it's DVR capability (store as much as you want for nine months). Of course we also have other services, Amazon Prime, Disney+ for half price for 3 years, Apple TV for free with a new phone, Netflix for free with T-mobile, then other services depending on offers, HBO Max for six months with the recent discount+AMEX offer, Peacock for free right now with the AMEX offer, Hulu TV for a year for $24, and then just recently Paramount Plus for a year for $50 (could have been $30 with commercials). It's Peak TV folks, enjoy it while you can, because it's hard to imagine all these services surviving in the long-term.
