so I can just buy this and games will be added? I'm not so tech savvy and would just purchase the right usb to add the games

Don't buy any usb that contains roms.
Google coinops x secret sauce v4.0 & 4.5. Look for the reddit links.
Watch youtube tutorial on how to setup and install CoinOps X.

Go use GOOGLE or visit arcadepunks website
Okay, well at least this helps all of us here asking those questions. Many of us didn't know everyone has bee discussing doing stuff illegally. Now many of us can move on and ignore this deal. Thanks.

Careful with that link. Seems to be a lot of basic questions here and that project isn't basic. "THIS WILL ONLY WORK ON AN ALU 1.0 WITH FIRMWARE 4.20 OR LOWER."

Has anyone been able to successfully use with a computer by hooking directly into usb port?

When I do the only recognized control is the trackpad (as mouse control)
I'm also wondering about this as well, or if the sticks can be paired to a PC via bluetooth?

You talking out of your ass. Pi 4 alone will cost you 50 bucks. Not including all the hardware and memory.... I have these with over 5k of games running on coinops.
Sounds like you're the target type of consumer for this thing. Someone who isn't tech savvy that wants to pay for free ROMs.so they don't have t spend an hour or less building something. My Retropie with case, controllers, and over 10k games was right at $100. You can probably do it for even less nowadays with the kits they sell.

Can you post a pic of it? Cause I'm gonna be a jerk and say if you only spent 100 dollars, it doesn't look anywhere near as nice as this. You're acting like people are paying full retail for it. No way you can create what you're getting for 100 dollars. Even if your time is worth 0 dollars and you exclude all the time you spent building a fancy controller case.

It can take a bit of time but is pretty basic. And I'm on the latest firmware on my ALU and it works fine. I basically have every game I ever wanted to play on two USB sticks (one arcade one consoles)

It's now locked to your machine. You can't buy them anymore to my knowledge. The USB has to be formatted for your machine.
You can create multiple partitions on a USB. One partition for games, and one to be formatted, so of the usbs for sale have multiple partitions, then they could still work with a few extra steps.

Here's the thing. You don't even need to buy a raspberry pi. If you had an old laptop lying around (or desktop PC), you can load Ubuntu on it, and run Retropie on it. But since you asked, I did take a photo of my Retropie that should be attached to this post.
