I purchased one of these on Friday and it's coming tomorrow. This might be a stupid question, but does this work with CoinOps Next 2? Or just the original CoinOps Next?

Well folks received the item today. I must say the included HDMI cable length is a joke. It's way too short.

Not sure if mentioned before, but learn from my mistake and time trying to figure out what went wrong when trying to get Sauce to work. Plug your USB stick into the puck not the back of the controller board. Won't say how many times I reran everything to finally figure this out.

Is there a way to change the output resolution in the menu to 720p? My tv is giving me a invalid format when connected with the hdmi.

are you talking about the squar trade warranty?
When checking out, it gave me the option to buy a 2 year Walmart warranty for $8, I think it's powered by AllState.

Does anyone have any experience with an item like this with Squaretrade warranty service? Would I get a refund versus repair? The trackball is dead on mine and I can't get an exchange.

Yeah, ha, I can see that. I may not be thinking sharply right now, but I do wonder why they went with that (fairly rare in terms of using male to male usb cable to charge) usb connector on the control unit..?

I really like that. Wonder if someone can come up with the plans for this.

Mine just arrived. I'm not going to bother with trying to get anything running tonight, but I'm super impressed.

I've done DIY arcade stuff before and this case alone is worth the price IMO. Can't say I love how loose the sticks feel, but the buttons and trackball feel nice. I bought this with the intention of doing some mods and I'm happy I did. Absolute steal at 99 dollars.

Sure, all you need is a bucket of T joints and 20 ft of pipe. You will also need some pvc cement. I made mine triangular because I was not quite sure how folks would want to stand and what would be comfortable for 2 players. A pipe cutter is also a big help but not required.

You could design it a lot of ways, but using 2 T connectors connected on the long end as a hinge allows you to not need a lot of different angle and 4 way connectors. It also is was allows it to fold down. So one bucket of 20 Ts should get it done for you.

For stability and rigidity you will want a few sets of cross beams, rather than just making a pipe run the full hight you are looking for. It will also look terrible raw unless you buy furniture grad pvc. So just hit it with some primer, paint and a clear coat. You may want to give it a little sand to give the paint some grip.

It is light weight (Which was the goal) so standing in the bar at the bottom is good if someone is a real energetic player. You could also drop a sandbag or dumbell. So just a bit different than someone building a permanent thing.
Thanks for the detailed reply. Would you mind posting more photos from more angles and explaining how it's foldable? Also, any more specifics (pipe diameter and lengths) would be appreciated. I'm debating between doing something like this so that I can hide away the stand more easily when not needed versus buying the Buy Stuff Store quick release stand. That all assumes that I actually get my unit (it's still showing a "Preparing Order" status on Walmart.com). Frown

What am I missing something..does it come with a charger for the controller?

Edit: the male-male usb cord is the charger. Although looks like it could take a 12V barrel charger too.

From the manual:

How to charge my Control Top

Before the first use, please connect the Control Top to the provided USB charger* (Output: 5V/2A) or a computer with the provided USB cable until it's fully charged (battery indicator light will turn off). Subsequent full charges should take approximately 5 hours.

*Note: While some compatible USB devices may be able to supply power to the Control Top, AtGames cannot recommend any particular device. Please follow the instructions on the third party charger.
