I'm sure the no-name usb power brick and cables included don't have the greatest QC.
my thought as well, the look of it did not instill much confidence. I'm sure on everyone on SD has more than a few laying around anyway. just played a quick game of Bad Dudes and didn't have any issues. all buttons tested fine.

The first partition, which you originally format blank and as FAT, gets formatted by the console and setup specifically and encrypted for your device (locked to it). So once you do that part, and install CoinOpsX to it, you never want to mess with it again on a PC. This is the one that can be left small since it doesn't ever hold much. The second (exFAT) partition is where all your games are stored. I've personally never tried adding multiple saUCE packages since all I wanted was the arcade one, so I can't provide precise instructions other than knowing, based on what I read, that it is definitely possible to combine multiple ones. I believe there is a specific process and remember seeing a reddit thread that goes into more detail on it, so I would recommend checking there in the Legends and Sauce ones. However, using two different sticks for different saUCEs is definitely possible and probably easy (both in terms of setup and to help keep things separate and easier to navigate). Just follow the same process on both. Alternatively, if you use a USB hub, I believe you can use a dedicate flashx USB stick for that and then change out ROM sticks which just have that data on them.

When adding/changing ROMs, do NOT delete the addonx folder at the root. This has all the data it built on the existing ROMs as well as a lock file with its history, etc. in it. If you add ROMs, just run the addonx tool again and it will skip over anything it already did. If you delete the addonx folder, it needs to process everything all over again vs just the changes. It won't break anything to do it this way but it isn't needed unless something isn't working properly.
Gotcha...many thanks for your feedback. I had a similar view to what you said regarding just adding the raw data to the relevant folders and how to handle Addon.. I agree with the approach to add the files and re-run Addon to let it incorporate any "new" files/roms into the overall game list for the particular flash drive.

Am I the only one who got a DUD unit and cant seem to get any help from support?
I was able to start up the system and pair the control deck to the puck.
Seemed like P1 and P2 buttons were not working because I couldn't get a game to start.
When I finally did I couldn't play a game without the Configuration Menu coming up trying to remap controls (Stock Games)
After much research online was led to the HELATH CHECK option under settings and the more than half of the control buttons do not work or register as being tapped when you test them in this screen.
Original email back from support was a copy of the instructions (which are horrendously written) and note about blue tooth latency. The units were within a foot of each other, and why would some buttons register as working but more than half including the trackball not register in the test screen.

Hoping that they come through on the warranty replacement, since Walmart is OOS. I did go back to grab my recipt online and saw that I could still purchase the extended 2 yr warranty for $8 so I did that as well.

Anyone else have issues?

TIA
Sorry you got stuck with a dud. I was worried about getting one with problems as well. Thankfully the one I received today looks to be flawless. Firmware updated and the connections all completed successfully though I had to do P2 connection twice to get it to take. Fingers-crossed the CoinOpsX stick works when I finish setting it up. Definitely worth $99 (and I used a Plat Amex card and Paypal checkout to get my monthly $30 refund from Amex). I'm 3 for 3 on months used...good through June so 3 more uses . Mentioned in case anyone has a Plat Amex - mentioned in previous postings on SD.

Ugh, mine somehow got stuck in Wally World shipping purgatory. They prepared the shipping label a few days ago, but so far nothing else. Was originally supposed to be delivered yesterday. Thanks Obama.

I was thinking of buying this until you just said that... might skip on this as well cause of that.
From what I've seen, 'YOUR' games are on a USB drive. No need for a server unless you want to store them in the cloud. I have a ton of roms from my Meme/Mess days and just used the AddOn tool to convert one of them for this so far. About to try it once the console finishes trying. There are Instructions and DL links for the AddOn tool and Mess Frontend online if you Google it

Bought two, both have issues out of box.
The first had a broken button - I opened it up and put the switch back. It is an easy fix, but I realized some of the screws hold the bottom to the top could not be tightened (the top board probably already stripped).
The second one has issue with the trackball. It does not move at the same speed in all directions. It is a lot faster vertically, and it barely moves to the right. You could test it by plugging it into the PC.
I thought Atgames has become a better company given the competition from others like Arcade1up, but I guess they are still Atgames....
Now I have to return two huge box back to walmart, what a pain!

Maybe swap out the trackball with the one that works so you have at least one that works? Smilie

fwiw you can go back to your order on Walmart and add the warranty. I was miffed that I forgot it but just tacked on the three year one.
They give you a month, and the device comes with a 30 day warranty. Why not wait until the last day and add it then to extend your time? That's what I'm doing

I thought about it actually....it seems it requires too much work. I might give it a try if I change my mind later. Frankly, I have tons of Pi and android box and several joystick with Sanwa parts. This thing is just something I want, not what I really need.

Ugh - I spoke too soon. The trackball is completely useless on this unit. I'm not sure what the issue is but it doesn't track much at all...just a little movement then nothing. May crack it open and look at the hardware a bit closer. Joysticks work fine but like others have said, the bt connection is a bit flaky at times. Seems the Player 2 side is unreliable thus far. Firmware is current.

Well hooked mine up as well and yes the BT is way more of a pain then it should be, took a while after I updated the firmware and the sticks wouldn't connect, unplugged the puck and then all went well. Everything seems to work, probably should check with a diagnostic though. Is kind of stupid that you cant turn the puck off other then by unplugging it else the system stays on. Leaving it on for the time being. Really have to get use to arcade sticks again, was all over the place as I'm use to less movement of joypads where as the sticks have a lot of movement to go where you need to. The CoinOPSX was also having some issues which seemed to resolve itself after I unplugged the USB stick and plugged it back in. I installed the software but the first few times it wouldn't find it.

Edit: Ran The tests and everything is good!

Did you try factory resetting? I saw on Reddit, this guy fixed his issue by factory resetting.

IF YOU ARE HAVING PAIRING ISSUES AND TRACKBALL ISSUES FOLLOW THESE STEPS!!!
YOU HAVE TO FACTORY RESET THE CORE AND CONTROLLER UNIT AFTER UPDATING FIRMWARE!!!!

Power off the device.
Press and hold the recovery button with a pin.
Power on, then press and hold the P1 START + MENU buttons while you continue to hold the recovery button.
Once you see the factory reset prompt, release all buttons.
Follow the on-screen instructions.

Sorry to hear people getting defective devices. Mine arrived this afternoon, and I have had a blast with it... just tested everything working perfectly. Just using it as a controller hooked up to my PC with usb. Configured Mame controls to use it. It was easy plug and play. Tested centipede trackball, increasing sensitivity and speed in Mame analog controls, and played Jr.pacman, Defender, Vanguard. All work perfectly. $99 well spent and a steal!
I Also tested and configured future pinball on my pc, but the button mapping was wonky and took me an hour to figure out the buttons to configure. I couldn't program the nudge buttons, only the left joystick was automatically a nudger. But it works great too.
-----
Lol, I haven't touched the Atgames stuff: built in games, coinopx, wireless Bluetooth puck yet...That will be my next project this week after I purchase a new flash drive.Either 64gb or 128gb.
-----
Note: mine came in a brown cardboard box with Atgames name....Not the fancy artwork white box, as seen In some YouTube reviews
Thanks for the update. I'm still waiting on a Tracking Number and was worried if that package would show up without me being around, that it would just be in the outside white "PLEASE STEAL ME" box.
