If you remove any paid lines within the first year, the free line loses the promo and becomes paid.

TMO doesn't want people doing what you're wanting to do.

To accomplish it, you would need to:

1. Add free line.
2. Wait a year + one day.
3. Port out paid line to another carrier.
4. Keep paid line active on another carrier for 90 days (to preserve number).
5. Port old number back in on free line.

This whole process has taken you 1.25 years.
My port-in was initiated during T439 promo period and completed today outside of the promo period. Without the port in (with only the added line and traded-in) I was on a bad promo. Once the port-in completed today, the system auto updated to T439 promo in my account --> promotions. Therefore, I don't think it was a requirement the port-ins must be completed by 3/24 EOB, just as long as they are initiated.
YES, you can use this sim in your iPad. I pay for 2 lines and have 3 free lines on promotion (5 lines total)
I have 2 of my free lines in a iPad and a Samsung S4 tablet, with UNLIMITED data.
You have to call them and tell them you want to use the line (promo line) in a tablet but don't want to lose the promotion and you don't want to open a new line for this.
What they did for me, was block the phone service on the line and kept the messaging and data. That way I am able to use it in my tablet.
Every summer my daughter comes and visit from Germany. I take one of the sim card out of my tablet and put it in her phone..
I call T-Mobile and have them unblock the phone service. That way, my daughter has a phone while she is here in country.
When she leaves I call them back and get it blocked again. I have been doing this for close to 5 years. So I know for a fact it works.
Tomorrow I will be calling to try and get another free line.. (Fingers Crossed)
Hope this helps

well, its also noted in the wiki that you cant stack this free line with costco BYOD promo. i guess its YMMV but ive never tried because TMO lines are way too sensitive and brittle. many things break so I havent tried. would like to see some DPs though.
Really?
I tried the similar offers 3 months by adding free line with BYOD in Costco and I just received 2 rebate cards, $200 and $100 (one BYOD offer was 200 and the next there was another BYOD offer for $100 in Costco)!!!

Works with Google Fi number? Thought had to be ATT/Verizon?
Worked for me. Thankfully I had a sim card that I was able to reactivate and then cancel.

Anyone got iphone 12 pro max with $830 credit with this free line promo ?
I did this today in-store, added a free line, port-in a number from freedompop, and trade-in an Iphone XR. All promos were applied to the account a few hours later.

This was the fastest trade-in that I have done and received a message that the trade-in is completed - all on the same day.

I messaged TEM (Team of Experts) and they confirmed that I can avail both promotions - free line, and Iphone 12 on us - 2021 Apple Switch trade P1 - T439 either through them or in-store.
So, I went to a store, opened a new line, traded-in an Iphone XR, and ported a number from freedompop. The port-in took a while. Meanwhile they assigned a temporary number, completed the trade-in process and initiated the port-in.
Initially, the 2021 Apple trade P1 - T510 applied to my account.
The port-in took a few hours as they had to manually call in for transfer at freedompop.
I just received a message that 2021 Apple Switch trade P1 - T439 had been applied to my account.
When I checked my account just now, both the line promo and the correct phone promos were applied.
Hi, thanks for the info, did they take your trade in phone right away or you have to mail it ? also are you charged sim and assistant fee?

Did they received your trade in in store or they gave you shipping label?

IMPORTANT! Jman100_JCMP's photo of SOC codes is missing a column of eligible SOC codes. Here is a photo I took of my Tmobile rep's screen today when I went into a store to see if I qualify for another free line.

the only con is that you add $20 because they won't waive activation right?

did they know about this promo? is there anything special i have to say or can i just say, id like to add a new line for free and use the iphone 12 on us promo?
Yes, I had to pay $20 assistance fee. But, I didn't want to take a chance with mailing in my trade-in phone. Amazingly, I just received a message that my trade-in is complete, and all promos are applied correctly - all in one day. I haven't had a trade-in that was this fast.

The store reps seemed to know about all promos. When I walked in I told them that I want to add a free line, port-in a number, and trade-in Iphone XR for Iphone 12 pro max. I mentioned the promo 2021 Apple Switch Trade, and they simply nodded and did everything.

Simply worth $20 for all the things that needed to be done. Now, I don't have to worry about mailing in my phone, waiting for Assurant to assess my phone, and things like that.

I have had this happen multiple times before essentially there is a 14 day grace to cancel and should still be eligible for free line. Having said that do it via social media so they are on the hook as it is in writing and spell it out.
Thanks for responding! They confirmed that I was eligible as the canceled line was canceled with no service used. I had an extra sim card, and was was able to activate the free line right away

No, only works with the iPhone 12 Mini and iPhone 11 being 50% off, port in and trade in not required
It worked on Iphone 12 pro max with the port-in and trade-in. All promos are correctly applied.

The biggest advantage of doing the trade-in in a store is that they will assess the phone, and apply the instant trade-in credit. They will mail the phone and you don't have to deal with the trade-in once you leave the store.
Amazingly, received a message that my trade-in was complete. All promos on my account are now applied correctly. This is the fastest trade-in experience for me - all in one day.

That offer worked and after that one ended, they changed the terms and they no longer worked and you'll get denied.

yea. the 200 one didnt have that restriction. many got it. the 100 one is key. that one mentioned costco BYOD wont stack, but i guess it worked for many. i didnt do it. i probably wont do it this time either. too much at stake for $150. but the 300 x 2 BOGO didnt have that language mentioned.

if you have no need for another line, any benefit? I would love to get one and then drop one of my paid lines, but then it seems you cannot use that same number from the cancelled line, which is a big bummer.
