Idea with both is to let water bead up and fall off the car, taking with it any dirt and such from the rain rather than sitting on the paint and eating thru it (acid rain).
Both are sacrificial - wears over time.
...
How long they last depends on your environment and car paint.
..
As for glossiness, which is totally separate from water beading, I still personally prefer Meguiars Gold Class liquid applied with a rotary buffer, hand buffed with a microfibre cloth.
For an average shine, this spray is fine on newer cars where the paint hasn't worn dull.

If not,
Wash
Clay bar
Optional Polishing compound with rotary (depends on how much swirls and paint damage exists)
Buff
Car wax with rotary
Buff
...
A quick spray and microfiber wipe down of clean or bwaxed cars with Meguars Quick Detailer spray can boost the illusion of shine and gloss easily.
...
But for selling cars. A clean engine compartment, vacuumed under the seats and mats, etc can help.

If lazy?
Wash car - skip if not too dirty.
Then the secret?

Wipe with the cleaner, lightly buff with microfiber.
Seriously good gloss and shine for a wipe!
This is what I'd do because of the easy nice gloss. I use it on my cars between a full wax.
I agree with the use of this type of product after the car has been washed, polished, and waxed. I use a detailer to knock the dust off and enhance the shine. Products like this are great for in between washes! I never used this one, however.
walmart has it for $11.99. shipped from Advance auto parts
The "ceramic" part is likely more of a buzzword used for marketing purposes than anything.
This is great for free and there shouldn't be any complaining. Use it or don't, it's pretty simple.

they will give a receipt some lazy ask you take it as they already received the money
I use Aquapel on the windshield and Rain-X everywhere else. The beading is exactly the same, but the Rain-X wears off sooner.

Never had a chance to use any other of their products, though
People like to take their anecdotal experiences with zero hard evidence as gospel and then hold a grudge for life, while forever spewing baseless hate and rumor like theyre the messiah.
