1a. Coverage is on the native T-Mobile network. There's no domestic roaming, not even for voice/texts. I highly, highly recommend testing out the T-Mobile network before purchase.
1b. Mint (and other MVNOs) are on the lower rungs of network priority. That means deprioritization is going to hit you before it hits Metro or T-Mobile's direct customers. Again, test the network if you can.
2. There's no separate bucket for hotspot. If this is a 10GB plan, you get 10GB combined for phone and hotspot use. What that also means is that they don't slow you down on hotspot, at least until your 10GB is all expended. Not sure what happens to hotspot speeds then, but phone data speed is crippled to something like 128k.
3. Mint comes with access to 5G, VVM, voLTE and WiFi calling. Not sure if you can activate eSIM with this plan, but it is an option Mint is now offering for some phones.
4. Customer service is decent imo. If you have a reddit account, they have a pretty active rep and company brass that posts there.
5. No, they don't check IMEI numbers.
6. There is a limit on the duration of phone calls. Search reddit for it, if you're on long calls and don't want to get disconnected in the middle of one.
7. They offer free text and calls from US to Canada and Mexico. What they don't offer is cheap overseas roaming. It's something like $200/GB.
Customer service mentioned that if I had problems activating and I was within 45 days of my receipt Mint customer service would take care of it, with proof of purchase.
I held the last one for 35 days, and had no problem activating it.
It's my opinion and just a guess that some type of expiration date clock starts when the SIM is shipped, notice the packaging of the SIM. The barcode numbers of the SIM card are clearly visible through the backside of the packaging.
Last offer was January 25th, 2021 for the 10 GB, but it seems random as to when and which SIM goes on sale. The 4 GB I've seen down to $20-$25.

Then when you're providing the info to mint your account number is also your Google voice number and your pin is the same pin you setup for your voicemail.
I just activated my plan 6 days ago and that's what i provided and it activated my Google voice number immediately
Once when GV is established, you wouldn't want to port the GV number back in, you take whatever mint gives you and perform call forwarding.
How do I get pin to port # to GV? They don't check IMEI right?
Do not use the GV number as the account number for mint, or you'd be porting it back in. You could just save the fee and take whatever number GV gives you if your current mint number doesn't have that long of a history.

Ok great. With the Mint Mobile SIM from best buy for 3 months pre-paid service on Mint, I won't be asked to pay the extra $7.75 recovery fee at any point right?

We charge for recovery fee but Best buy has their price and you would be charged for taxes only, but when you renew keep in mind that we do charge recovery fee.

Works fine as long as you are in city.

How does Mint know when I receive the card? Just curious...
What would happen if you just registered with your SIM in another phone, and then took the SIM card and swapped it back to the phone with the IMEI you'd already been using on Mint? Doesn't seem possible they could be telling you your SIM isn't usable if moved to a different phone once you're already registered.

I ran 2 speed tests in WNY,
4g - 40 mbps
5g - 210 mbps
I switched to ATT and have much better signal now at work on my iPhone XS.

No roaming? that means if I go to another state/city, I can't even call/text?!?!? Or it's when I go somewhere that there is no t-mobile tower then I can't call/text nothing?!?! thanks for that, that's a big tthing to consider, I read many reddits and none mentioned that.
