I have this lock and key is unique. It's this weird half cresent looking key thing.

Also, a thief can just kick the door in, or go in through a back window if they really want to.

Any lock can be bypassed. Just take a look at the lock picking lawyer.

Also, you can try and fill in the keyhole with something block it I guess.

Good to see another long-time member comment.

It's not for everybody. I have two of them because they each solved different problems/annoyances for me.

The fingerprint works great. The keypad is a backup/method but I haven't had to use it for myself as I use the fingerprint.

Contractors, cleaners, dog walkers, or other family can be given their own individual code with optional time limits - 2pm to 4pm.

The key, which will explode the other commenter's mind, is next backup/method.

I'm leaving a few more options... like opening via the app, etc.

It helps me so I bought it, and then bought another one after using it for a while.

I would think that this type of lock is for convenience and not necessarily for improved security. If someone is into your wifi or Bluetooth then you've got big problems overall.

I see some added advantages:

- Many vehicles don't require keys in hand to lock their doors, so it's just one less annoyance of having to hunt for keys through a bag or purse to open the front door.

- Dark entries where it's hard to find the keyhole

- Rentals or airbnb can change codes as often as needed.

- No need for a key vault outside

- Kids who forget or lose their keys can be let in and the code changed. No need to rekey as long as the physical key wasn't lost.

It wasn't long ago when I was researching door locks to see which was the superior brand and bump proof. Times have changed.

Granted it's pricey for a door lock, but it comes down to whether you feel that the features outweigh the perceived risk.

I've had this installed for about a week now. I love it. Previously had a Yale which was fine but I upgraded due to integration with my existing Eufy stuff, fingerprint, and Wi-Fi unlocking.

So, is it right in saying that the product here and https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08HYTGFLR are the exact same in functionality? Just this one has in built wifi, rather than the external bridge?

I own both. Another difference is one uses a rechargeable battery (Wi-Fi built-in model) while the bridged one uses 4 AA batteries. The motor torque on the one with the built-in Wi-Fi definitely seems stronger than the bridged version, this is just my opinion though.

I bought this a few weeks back at full price (thinking it wouldn't go on sale because it was just released lol). I'm in the camp of if a thief really wanted to get into my house, then a deadbolt isn't going to be stopping them. This appears to be one of the only ones on the market that has fingerprint/wifi/bluetooth/physical key access, so the convenience was a huge selling point for me and I don't regret buying at full price at all. I don't touch my keys at all after leaving the house. Would definitely recommend if you can afford it!

Edit - I also don't use auto-lock so I can't comment on that

Dont buy it folks since this is very buggy (speaking from experience since I owned 2). 1st auto lock aint working as indicated. I set mines to eitger 1 or 30 seconds but took 3 minutes before the default kicked in. The 2nd issue is the critical one since it couldn't reconnect itself to the same wifi after the internet dropped and went back online. We have to be PHYSICALLY next to the lock to fix this issue ourselves. Even though I don't have this issue witg other smart devices but their technical support thinks it might be related to my router lol

Nah. It won't. You make no sense. Phones are the same glass. It's just smudges. Plus I use two different codes of varying types. It wouldn't help one bit with all the possible combinations lmao
