This is true 100%

I had a back up tracfone, loaded for a years service that I kept in my car. Didn't use it for months and when I actually needed it, guess what it was deactivated. I called CS and they told me if the phone isn't being used on a semi regular basis they deactivate it. I told them this was AN EMERGEMCY PHONE THAT I PREPAID FOR A YEARS SERVICE and their reply was "sorry sir, that's our policy."

I stacked this on my current TF plan and I see that it extended the "last day of service" by 1 year but my data, texts and minutes are still showing the same as previous. Does it take a while to update?

EDIT - It took a while longer but did finally show up

Whoever using Google Voice (GV) on TF please be careful. I learnt the hard way a few years ago. Even though the GV is suppose to be VOIP when you make or receive a call that is counted against your carrier' minutes. I felt like it was pretty much a scam from Google. I stopped using GV on the TF line after that. BTW if this maters I have a TF that uses AT&T' network.
you probably do not understand how VOIP works. The voice apps will constantly connect to server to make itself be available for voice connection. I turn off my data when I do not intend to use it.

How, exactly, did you do that? I'm logged in to my TF account but not sure how to add this to my existing plan and phone.

Yes you can. I did three one after the other. I think your account would have the phone number and somewhere it might say "add time" or upgrade or something to that nature. Then, I believe your last added sim would be the active one and previous sim would be deactovated.

Or you can try their chat, and ask them to keep the current sim and everything but just to add the ttd from your new sim ro the same phone number without deactivating the existing si.

I stacked this on my current TF VZ plan and the expiration date does extend. However when login to my account, I noticed my locked phone IMEI (Moto g power bundled with 1yr plan) account becomes inactive. Am I going to have problem next year when I want to unlock my phone?

In order to unlock a Tracfone the original sim needs to be active in the phone for a period of one year. It may be possible to swap in a different sim provided the original is kept active and replaced from time to time. If the original was deactivated when you added the new one it's not very likely you'll be able to unlock.

For anyone who will use the Verizon-Tracfone SIM card, do not swap the SIM. Otherwise, it will screw up.

I activate the Tracfone-Verizon SIM card with Samsung S9 and then insert the activated SIM into iPhone for test purposes. I guess I used that way a month.
Put the Tracfone SIM back into S9. Purchased a Total Wireless SIM from the previous deal.
I activate the Total Wireless with a NEW NUMBER. BUT!! Total Wireless transferred my Tracfone number.
A real problem is that according to the Total Wireless/Tracfone customer service agent, two phones assigned one phone number.
I called a higher level of CS once every day, but still not resolved.
They just keep moving the phone number from one to another.
Totally screwed up.

What the HELL are you doing? Smilie
tracfone has a number of different brands they put on their phones, safelink, total wireless, tracfone, etc, and each brand has a different website where you activate the new service. So you should have 2 active sims , one from total wireless and one from tracfone.

I myself have 2 different tracfone branded devices (skype and tracfone) , each has seperate phone number , and it works for me. 2 sims each with it's own phone number.

I can put these 2 active sims in any locked tracfone , which I do all the time and they work great.

Now, if you contacted tracfone and wanted the total wireless sim to be changed to regular tracfone sim, you could screw everything up. So, at first you had one service plan with tracfone and you saw that sim worked on other locked tracfones, no problems. Then you added a different branded sim card and wanted new number , so you have 2 numbers. Maybe go through your sims to find the IMEI number that is tied to each phone number.

Good luck. Let us know what happens with your situation. I'm sure your post helps others that plan to mix and match different branded tracfone services to go slow and seperate the 2 active sims.

Yes, it's meant to be used with unlocked BYOP phones. G Power has all network bands so works with either Verizon or AT&T. Should have no issues. (BTW you will enjoy the battery life on the G Power, mine lasts 2 or 3 days easy).
