I use 4 in a 16' span and have no problems with bowing the wood even when they may be hanging close to 4' off a bracket. Ten footers the way I am laid out hang about that distance over the edge of the support and I have had no problems.
If you do have some piece of lumber particularly floppy just start out the stack with a flat one and you are good to go.
i'm sure my concerns aren't justified, but hey, maybe it'll make me sleep better at night
thanks for the input, appreciate it.

Storing it on the floor can cause problems as you are trapping moisture and you get unequal drying and moisture content.
I was going make a new lizard cage this year, but it requires 4 sheets of 3/4" plywood, which has tripled since 2019.
personally i use Burton wall mounts, gets the board flush and you can put them anywhere. we also have a ton of boards, so covering a wall in these looks pretty dope gets pricey though is you have a bunch of boards.

They will work fine for a few boards. I have 4 of them holding about $100 worth of poplar - 3 boards that I have left https://static.slickdealscdn.com/ima...lies/frown.gif Bora looks a lot better but it wasn't on sale when I needed a storage solution. Considering that I don't have vertical space on the wall I would cut them in half instead of buying 2 sets and mount all 4 as one unit - 1 bracket on every other stud. This would give pretty good support for boards up to 10 feet

I do use those wall mounts to display boards, but I'm looking for something more for storage and keeping the boards out of the way in the off-season. I work at Burton in VT, so I can get those mounts at a pretty good discount.

Yup! LedgerLok is the gold standard in structural screws. The shank is just shy of 1/4" but stronger than a 1/2" lag bolt.
Base on the lumber price I guess I can save like $15 for material....
Also do you recommend buying one pair or two ? I'm worrying about warping. Mainly put 8feet lumber on it through.

That's 36 8 foot 2x6s for example.
