HOWEVER it doesn't support HiDPI (high definition) scaling on external monitors. It's been a pain for myself and many users. In practice this means that the image on an external monitor is grainy. There's a thread on MacRumors discussing the issue and it's widespread with all M1 powered devices.
the naysayers don't know what they're talking about. this is the best laptop i've ever owned. I own an iPhone and haven't used a laptop regularly for a few years, but signing into my apple ID allows for a pretty seamless transition with the touch ID. this thing runs cool all the time. there is literally no grill or way to get to the innards anywhere, which means no fan to block and overheat your shit.
i know i'll get the downvotes from the pc master race, but their downvotes sustain me.
if you have the budget for a great laptop with equally great battery life and iOS integration, buy this. if you don't, or you're salty about macs, then don't.
i like the laptop.

Macs do have the integration aspect down pat. It's the UI that I'm trying to get over since this is the first Mac that has me looking hard at it. On Windows, I click Start ,start typing the first few letters of the app and the list of applications zeroes in for me to launch. On a Mac, I click Finder, then click Find to do the same. It's just one more step, but things like not being able to have context menus everywhere with a right click just doesn't seem to be very efficient for productivity.
This price is tempting. I just wonder how much difference 16GB would make for video editing.

What is the best deal on a 16 gb model out there right now guys?
Thanks!
You should be fine unless you have other programs open as well, then 16gb will be helpful. May want to upgrade to 16gb for future-proofing purposes as the RAM is not upgradeable later.
And some Macs and MacBook Pro there's a few still around.
But when an 8 Core M1 is delivering performance better than a desktop 8700K I'd go with M1

Use Costco for the warranty and return period or even Best Buy at least they price match MicroCenter.
