$800 for 8gb laptop is not a good deal. Don't care how good the M1 runs benchmarks. Most people buying one are just web browsing. Waste of money.
Wrong, I use for CADD design, software programming and photography work. The machine is fine.

I may not do any graphic work, but as a programmer, this is 8gb is sufficient.

"Not a good deal for 8GB RAM"

*proceeds to explain how general public does not utilize extra RAM*

TFW you've never used a Mac, much less one with Apple Silicon chips.

all the complaints coming from people who probably paid $1200 for the iPhones in their pockets. From experience, going from an i9 to a M1 pro, the optimization is insane at every level btw.

The M1 Macbook is worth the upgrade. low power consumption for everyday use, surprised how smooth it runs with all the tabssssss i have opened w/ 8GB ram and it rarely heats up. if it was running intel w/ 16GB, my macbook would be running hot, nonstop fan, and crashed a long time ago. i read firms still have not fully utilize the M1 power.

How comparable is this to a regular laptop with 16gb? Also a programmer and I usually reach 14-15gb use
