"High performance alkaline batteries". What a joke.

Seriously, once I went eneloop over a decade ago I haven't gone back to alkaleaks. For things that need the higher 1.5 volts alkaline cells provide I use lithium. No leaks, no disappointments.

Amazon branded batteries haven't lasted very long in my experience. Charged less than the other brands'?

I tried about 4-5 packs of these batteries. I was constantly replacing them in everything from remotes to controllers(lasted 1-2 weeks at most). I ended up switching to radio shack batteries based on a digital photography battery testing report. They last quite a bit longer(months). I was so disappointed in the Amazon basics batteries that I wrote a review, which I rarely do. Amazon removed the review.
be happy they died early and didn't eat the remotes with acid :3

these things are ok for the emergency kit if you replace them every few years but outside of that they are a liability

I think most things label 1.5v required. How do I know whether it's safe to use eneloop for them? I read that some cheap electronics might catch fire for using eneloop due to higher amp (or something else)?

Nimh nominal voltage is around 1.2-1.4v. Rechargables start at lower voltage and a few devices will cut off early with the lower voltage but all batteries lose voltage as they discharge. But hey you can recharge them. You may be referring to discharge rate or c rate tho, but they are perfectly safe.

The environmental waste of these are immense, ikea is going to stop selling alkalines and move to rechargable only. Good move.

Amazon i hate to say it but their offlabel products have been going down in quality as bezos needs another newspaper to buy. Even their rechargables used to be good and from japan. Now some unnamed hole in china.

No thx. I dont buy amazon stuff anymore. Junk.

Duracell leaked even in bags 2 year before expiry.

Funnily the gp brand that came in some of my remotes never leaked. Like a champ. I personally hate alkaline the destroyed equipment no more. I cant wait until the get some good lfp rechargables.

I stocked up at Harbor Freight for $1.39 per 24 pack, AAA and AA. I tried to tell but nobody listened.

GP's a good brand in Asia. Those have worked well for me too. They come with all Logitech mouses/keyboards as well.

If you have to use that many batteries, you're doing it wrong

Project Farm did a nice test/review on all types of batteries...the Amazon certainly didn't hold the best charge, but for the price they came out on top (for the record, the Harbor Freight someone brought up earlier were terrible):

Granted, this doesn't say much about the leaking over time issue, but it certainly shows that if you get a batch that won't leak (!) and you need cheap batteries, these are about as good as it gets.

These made in china batteries don't hold their charges and leak all over the place. Careful you don't destroy your electronics. Better off getting the ikea laddas that are made in Japan.

single out one reasoning, "made in china", doesn't make you superior, at the same time of you buying this cheap stuff. lol
com'on, talk about something real instead of your imagination superior feeling, you either buy from China and take advantage of cheap price tag, or not participating at all.

The Chinese propaganda bots are here!

Dude gave 2 valid reasons: they don't hold their charge and leak all over the place. Reasons that have been echoed several times in this comment section. Not real enough?

I wouldn't use these Amazon batteries if they were free. Constantly replacing fire alarm 9v batteries that were purchased from Amazon.

Dude, do you know the GP mentioned here also is made in china? the difference is who own it, not who made it. everybody go through their vendor check before deciding who to contract.
