I used to love these and have 4 sets. These exact batteries that I purchased in 2020 and at the end of 2019 stopped keeping a full charge between uses and even worse, a number of my battery powered led lighting products no longer "recognize" these batteries. It's like they aren't even there. I have the really nice OPUS charging & testing unit and despite multiple cycles of "discharge & refresh" the Amazon AA batteries (both 2000 & 2450 mAh) continue to experience these issues.

You can order excellent high capacity AA batteries from IKEA and of course, look for sales on the top brands (Fujitsu runs deals fairly often).

Bottom Line, these Amazon batteries are hit & miss and definitely do not last "forever" .... more like months to a year (although the Amazon rechargeable batteries I purchased PRIOR to 2019 are great and haven't caused me any problems).

During a Amazonbasics aaa deal, people said that they are made in China. So, these too very well could be. I bought these a couple of times in the past, but they died much sooner than my Eneloops did. I now go for quality than quantity. If you can't wait for a deal and have an Ikea nearby, consider getting some Ladda rechargeables. They are reportedly made in Japan and are relabeled Panasonic/Eneloops.

I bought some last fall in MO and some more in KS a few weeks ago. They are available to order on their website too. Some are saying they are $4-5 a pack at their local stores, but I wasn't so lucky as they were still $7 for me. That said they are Eneloop Pro cells with different wrappers and made in Japan so still a good deal IMO.
