Up to 830 is because if you buy 12mini it will have trade in credit or only $730 and not $830 and it you buy 12pro or pro max then you will only get $830 and rest will be on you. That's what upto $830 means so yes iPhone 8 will get you upto $830 depending on the device you choose

Where is Costco? They use to have similar deal as Tmobile but not lately. Wonder if we didn't kill the golden goose by canceling "new line" after getting the rebate.

For those of you trying to get a phone from SWAPPA like a iPhone 8 or S9 series, make sure you do order from an individual seller where the item/images clearly display the listing number.

In that case it's a unique listing offer and the IMEI will be displayed on the sales page right after your purchase. If you order good quality or spend $10 more for mint you should be golden. Once purchased on the sales page you will see the serial number (IMEI):

If you order from an enterprise seller with generic images and none displays the unique listing number the IMEI will NOT show up and you may have to wait until they are back in the office on Monday and the deal could be over.

I know you called and confirmed but the rep was mistaken and that's not how it really works. I've traded in an early paid off EIP phone and still receive the credits. Many other folks on here have done the same thing.
I can one up you. I did an early pay off on a note phone, then canceled the line. And to this day I am still getting credit for it (18 out of the 24). It was one of bogo deal. The bill has the line listed as canceled with credit. It was a free line deal. Only reason I canceled it was to make room for future deals. Wasn't sure as to how many lines I was allowed to have.

When did you cancel the line and have you opened a new line since then?

Thanks for the info

Mine also showed 0 and I did it online too. The monthly credit seems to be matched up and equal to $830.
Which fone was that you used to trade in? So the full 830 is split over 24 mo?

I just called T-mobile and confirmed it. They said you can also change the IMEI through the trade in email instructions, the email which contains the return process. just reply that email and they'll change it for you.
Anyone knows which email being referred to? I'd rather do that to streamline the process than sending in a different phone. Per terms, you can also send in a different device. See below - article 9 in terms of the trade:

9. DEVICE REVALUATION. …You must ship Your Device by the Offer Price trade in expiration date. Devices not received with postmarks by the Offer Price trade in expiration date, or where the model or condition of the Device received has changed, will be reevaluated and assigned the Offer Price on the date of receipt by The Signal ("Revalued Offer Price"). If You choose nottoaccepttheRevalued OfferPrice,YoumayrequestTheSignaltoreturntheDeviceTheSignalreceived.

Disappointing that the end date was not mentioned in OP or wiki.

Confused
C'mon now... you've been on SD since Mar 2012; have 1,478 post under your belt and are telling us that you're 'disappointed' with missing information in the Wiki? A quick search of this thread alone would have answered your question. You could also check the promo details on Tmobile site. And, to be honest, a link to the Tmobile press announcement (yes, in the Wiki) clarifies the duration of the promo: "This Mother's Day weekend only..."

Still, I am sorry you missed out but I am sure there will be similar promos in the future.

Also all those smart people who did swappa & other device purchases with imei didn't bother to share any decent inputs for others like us until after the deal is dead.

WTF. I can only assume you are joking. 182 pages of comments and no one shared their experiences?! Maybe you were just too lazy to read….

It's in the Wiki (which also hasn't been edited in a couple of days, so you can't say that someone just added it):

Not exactly sure, but I think it was bout a year into the deal that I canceled the line. I've since added 4 lines thru Costco deal with the 2x$200(AAL)rebate and 2x$300(AAL, still waiting). I've since canceled at least 1 or 2 other lines since then. Hence the issue with the $300 rebate( I used the same imei as the $200, error on my part). The key for me appears to just keep the lines active for a year then I can do whatever. I took advantaged of the Mother's Day deal and got 2 of the pro max with a total down payment of about $1300(traded 2 galaxy 10+). Due to my T-Mobile credit being maxed out had to payoff the (free Samsung a32) to get in on the deal. Just received my first credit for a32 yesterday.

I did a trade in the last offer and never got a trade in email instructions.

I bought the iPhone 8 yesterday from eBay for trade in. The seller said the phone is unlocked so I picked "iphone 8 Generic" as a trade in instead of carrier name. Did I pick the correct trade in option? Did you guys pick "Generic" also?
