Up to 830 is because if you buy 12mini it will have trade in credit or only $730 and not $830 and it you buy 12pro or pro max then you will only get $830 and rest will be on you. That's what upto $830 means so yes iPhone 8 will get you upto $830 depending on the device you choose

Where is Costco? They use to have similar deal as Tmobile but not lately. Wonder if we didn't kill the golden goose by canceling "new line" after getting the rebate.

For those of you trying to get a phone from SWAPPA like a iPhone 8 or S9 series, make sure you do order from an individual seller where the item/images clearly display the listing number.

In that case it's a unique listing offer and the IMEI will be displayed on the sales page right after your purchase. If you order good quality or spend $10 more for mint you should be golden. Once purchased on the sales page you will see the serial number (IMEI):

If you order from an enterprise seller with generic images and none displays the unique listing number the IMEI will NOT show up and you may have to wait until they are back in the office on Monday and the deal could be over.

I bought the iPhone 8 yesterday from eBay for trade in. The seller said the phone is unlocked so I picked "iphone 8 Generic" as a trade in instead of carrier name. Did I pick the correct trade in option? Did you guys pick "Generic" also?
I traded 2 iPhone 8 128gb from a cricket deal.
rep picked Apple - Generic
I assume he could have picked ATT as well
But it should be fine.

Thanks. I don't think it matters as long as IMEI and phone is in good condition I guess. Thanks for the info. Repped.

Correct me if i'm wrong, but it seems like up until the S21 preorder trade in and this offer, that the old G'father plans were excluded from offers like these. Then all of a sudden I end with S21 and iphone 12 for the cost of clearance price old models.
Yeah - i'm on a promo Simple choice. 2 lines for $70, 6gb data. Then magenta friday 2 additional lines (double dipped with add a line free lg tablets...).
Glad to not be excluded Smilie

Disappointing that the end date was not mentioned in OP or wiki.

Also all those smart people who did swappa & other device purchases with imei didn't bother to share any decent inputs for others like us until after the deal is dead.

Selfish
Look at post #418 that I put up Friday. Don't be mad because you didn't read all the posts.

How much did you pay?
Is buying from eBay safe, at least for trading-in?

About $300.
That's BS and you know it. An SE2 was worth $530 no matter which device you traded it in for. Hence no difference if you trade it in towards a 12 Pro or a 12. Are you one of those folks that always fill up for $20 and tell everyone they don't care if gas gets more expensive?

Now that the deal is over, how many of you get the protection plan from T-mobile?

Which one you chose? Is it easy claim to process with liquid damage?

I cannot comment on the protection plans but isn't liquid damage pretty much a thing of the past with these phones being waterproof? Serious question.

Getting AppleCare directly from Apple is better than the protection plan unless you want the JUMP benefit.

I picked up three iPhone 12 Pro Max.

First Phone Trade in: Went on Offerup, purchased a Galaxy S9 for 150 bucks (so long as paid, not blacklisted, and no crack screens, you get the full 830 credit).

Walked into to store, turned trade-in phone in, was given a 65 credit for the actual trade in phone (later deducted from the 830 trade-in value). Paid the tax, charger, came out paying a bit over 100 bucks.

Second phone Trade In: Went on offerup, purchased an iPhone 8 for 150 bucks. Made sure it is paid, not blacklisted, no cracked screen. Got the full 830 Credit.

Walked into store, was give 75 dollar credit for phone (later deducted from the 830 total credit), but this time I had to spend close to 200+. Why? The first phone, the store rep screwed up and gave me an iPhone 12 Pro, instead of an iPhone 12 Pro Max. Went back to store, they couldn't fix it so they requested I go back tomorrow to "fix" issue so I can get the Pro Max.

Third Phone Trade In: This deal was soo good, I decided to upgrade Mom's phone. This time, I called T-Mobile, provided them info for her Note 9. Credit to be given will be 830. This time, I had to pay a bit above 300, because I had reached my "credit limit" This was actually a good thing, as I was being allowed to pay down more money so my monthly payment would be lower than the first two phones. Eventually, it turned out that this third phone I would only pay out about 4 dollars a month for 2 years.
The system will let you have 3 phones, but credits will be given only on 2. I can confirm this as this happened to me. I placed 3 orders on the phone with T Mobile and the Rep was not aware of the 2 per account limit. Now that the phones are shipped, I can see the credits applied only to 2 lines. On the 3rd line, the system is only giving me a $165 credit for the phone and nothing else.

They are water resistant, but can still get damaged if water somehow gets in. The seals don't last forever. That's why Apple still has liquid damage indicators inside the phones.

Wow, live and learn. Thanks. I knew that these things won't survive a multi-hour bath in 6 feet depth but thought that they're otherwise waterproof.
