In that case it's a unique listing offer and the IMEI will be displayed on the sales page right after your purchase. If you order good quality or spend $10 more for mint you should be golden. Once purchased on the sales page you will see the serial number (IMEI):

If you order from an enterprise seller with generic images and none displays the unique listing number the IMEI will NOT show up and you may have to wait until they are back in the office on Monday and the deal could be over.

I bought my previous 12 pro max from Apple no contract no lock straight and clear it costed $850 after some adjustments so I would probably choose that one over the Tmobile one.

Having said that, I would never go swimming with my phones (including current note 9), but have had them take a dip on accident from time to time and other than telling me that my charging port is damp and to let it dry, no damage.
Based on standards of immersion the iphone 12 should be better in that regard.
Basically, i look at it as a margin of safety if i'm fishing, canoeing, sailing, watering the yard, drop it in the sink, etc.
