The k55 keyboard is REALLY quiet compared to mechanical keyboards. Plus the feel is like 60-70% there as well. Get this and your family, roommates, gf/bf will love you (or at least stop hating you 😂)
I have the k55 for this very reason. I bought a blue switch keyboard 3-4 years ago and felt great. but then realize you can hear it echo throughout the 2nd floor even with the doors closed. quite annoying late at night.
got this instead and it's not bad. nothing close to the feel, but not mushy at all. and obviously more quiet.

will lookout for k55's on clearance
I got a mechanical and good God do I regret it. Not only is it noisy af but it's also much LESS smooth than my old membrane. Cherry keys, brown iirc? All of the Cherry keys are so jerky and scratchy. Tried some other types of keys and none were as smooth as my old membrane.
I will be going back to membrane when this one craps out.
I'm able to set a solid color for the entire keyboard except for the top right media keys but there's a lot of sharp plastic (shell) edges that give this thing a real cheap feel. I'm afraid it's going back, mehh.

Is setting the color out of the box or need any software to set it?
I read somewhere that u need to use a software to do it.
