You don't buy Office 365 for the office software. You buy it for the whopping 6TB of online storage. No other online provider comes anywhere close to that amount for roughly $6-8 a month.

How do you get 6TB if its under individual accounts?
Weird. I tried using my work email and we aren't eligible either, even though I know we have M365 (I should, I helped convert us from On-Prem to cloud!).

You create 6 accounts. 6 x 1TB is 6TB. Unless you actually are trying to back up a file over 1TB in size...
I have it and shared with family to back up photos and such. OneDrive's Android app is actually pretty decent and does a good job of backing up everything.
Anyone know how I can switch back to Microsoft after Amazon hijacking the original MS account and registering the ,",renew" as a a Amazon created account..

Would jump on this if it wasn't for just a year. Actually the cheapest option for a family if you want to backup your photos with Google Photos retiring it's free tier. Getting office is a nice bonus.
I'm not sure if they have ever advertised it, but Microsoft bought mover.io and you can log in there with your Office365 account. Then Mover.io can move/copy your Google Drive files over to OneDrive for free.
Thanks OP! I was able to get signed up and added to my existing personal Microsoft family account. The renewal price for subsequent years is showing currently at $69.99. That is more than worth it for me. Cheers!
change title to "home use program" please. wasted peoples clicks. not many people are qualified. most of the time, if they were qualified, they already knew about this program via their company.
If you are an existing Microsoft 365 Family subscriber:
From the official FAQ:
Q: Can I take advantage of the Home use Program offer if I already have Microsoft 365 Family or Microsoft 365 Personal installed on my personal device?
A: Yes. If you already have Microsoft 365 Family or Microsoft 365 Personal, you can still take advantage of this discount and apply it to extend your current Microsoft 365 subscription. Once purchased through Home Use Program, using your current Microsoft account that's associated with your Microsoft 365 subscription, an additional year is added to your existing subscription, and the discounted rate will begin at your existing subscription's annual renewal date.
In plain English:
You are charged $50 right now
Your current subscription period gets extended for a year beyond its expiration date (read: you get an extra year for $50)
Your subscription renews annually starting at the extended renewal date in 2) above at $69.99/year
Hope that helps folks.
Yes, this is a perpetual(? I'm not aware of Microsoft reverifying HUP details, ever) discount: 50% off the 1st year and 30% off every year after that.
I can confirm that this is exactly what it is - My Subscription was renewed by 1 year, and my future billing is at 69.99 which is sweet!
