Slightly. It's .093333 per ounce versus .0975 per ounce.

Beginning Wed Kroger is having Tide on sale for $2.99. Someone explain to me why paying 50% more is a hot deal.

A couple things to note. First, the Kroger deal is on a slightly smaller size package. When you account for that, the Amazon deal is only ~15% more expensive on a per unit basis. However, not everyone has a Kroger and there is clearly added convenience of getting it delivered to your door as opposed to having to pick it up at the store.

Also, there is the issue of packaging. The ones at Kroger are the standard plastic containers whereas the Amazon ones are in the pouches. I generally like the pouches more because they take up less space/are easier to store, allowing me to stock up on a greater amount at a time.

With all that said though, I think the main takeaway is that the Kroger price seems to be a very good deal, at least from what I can tell. However, the fact that Kroger has a really good price this week doesn't mean that the Amazon one isn't also a good deal. It just means that people should figure out of the differences in deal availability (everyone can order from amazon but not everyone can order from kroger), packaging, convenience, etc. is worth the extra 15% in price. If it is, order from Amazon. If not, go with Kroger.

Note for people that want to do Kroger, you have to get the digital coupon in order to get the 2.99 price so make sure you have an account and download the app ahead of time. You don't want to be doing that in the middle of the aisle with a cart full of groceries.

Without the measuring cap, won't it be easy to use more product than necessary? Thats what I hate about the liquid vs. the pods.

Trying to pour directly from the pouches will almost certainly result in problems. I typically use them essentially as "refills," i.e. I keep a plastic container with a measuring cap and refill it from the pouches when it is empty.

Also, maybe I need to research the pods more, but I feel like they have to have some waste too. I know that my loads can have a pretty wide range of sizes and I use different amount of detergent based on that. I'd assume that the pods would sometimes use more detergent than needed for my smaller loads, but I could be wrong.

FYI: Tide 37oz for $2.95 after digital coupon at Family Dollar this week. Cheaper than Amazon deal. Nearly every week Family Dollar or Dollar General has this deal.

Or you can just pour it into the measuring cap without emptying the pouch into the container.

idk why I assumed this deal was for pods, probably because it's relatively expensive. Thanks for asking this, it tipped me off to cancel. If I want plain old liquid laundry detergent,I can get the el cheapo brand at Shoprite for $1 for this size.
