I placed the order for store pickup. First store cancelled my order. I placed it again with a different store and they honored it.

Craftsmans have been hit or miss lately... I'm looking for a great shop vac for using in a mobile dust collector, but not sure this would be any good.

Not sure about mobile dust collection. I wanted one for cleaning the dryer vent/duct and needed the most powerful one. This is 6.5hp and the price has been 109-119 for a while on this.

This model, the 17595 with 47" of water lift and 177cfm of suction is probably the one you want.... especially at this price.

What is missing, is an extra length of hose... because 7' is typically not enough. I bought a bunch of them on closeout at Sears with several left. The optional 20' hose kit [amazon.com] seems to be a bit pricey, but so are the 7'. [acehardware.com] I am sure there is a deal, or will be a deal for the hoses.

Have these changed? After checking this particular model, it does not appear to be 'hit or miss' .... This 17595 is the only model we buy. While having two of my own, one at shop and one at home, I have given at least four of these away as gifts with no problems.

Sure, you can make a mobile dust collector from this unit with the proper setup... a cyclone is mandatory, while you may want to invest in better filters... maybe a hepa and maybe even a bag for the exhaust port.

I have seen people use this model to blow out sprinkler lines from the exhaust port, vacuum tons of water out of flooded basements, etc. I don't know of any other manufacture in this price range that can compete with the suction, but would certainly like to know if there is.
