I mentioned the offer to my wife who is a Chase employee and she pulled it up on her internal system. It had a note that they had additional offers if you apply in a branch. You get the 100k points, 1st year AF waived, and a $50 grocery credit. So essentially an extra $145 for applying in the branch.
Wow. No brainer if you are eligible for the bonus.
I signed up for 80k offer just last week. Can I get chase to make it 100k?

You cannot open a sapphire card while you still have a sapphire card. You'll need to product change it to a freedom card or close the account. Closing the account means you'll need to wait a month before applying for the new card. Product changing it means you'll need to wait 4 days before applying the new CSP. You're better off product changing it to a freedom ( no annual fee) for this reason. You can always cancel the freedom at a later date if you don't want it.
Why do you have to wait a month after cancelling the card vs waiting 4 days for a product change? I already cancelled my Sapphire but I thought I could wait a few days and apply for this.

Wish I saw this post earlier as I canceled my Reserve few days ago thinking it has the same waiting time as downgrade. It's time to call them back to reinstate the Reserve then downgrade to Unlimited to cut the wait time.
UPDATE: Made a call and changed to downgrade to Freedom instead of close out Reserve. Just wasted few days before I can apply for the Preferred. Hopefully promo won't end in a week.

Great info, appreciate it. Do you know if "product changing" it to a Freedom card resets the credit history as well? Guy I chatted with didn't have much knowledge, but he thought it would basically close my Sapphire account, meaning it would alter my credit history length. So at that point, I don't care much about Chase Freedom. If it's going to hit my credit score, may as well just close it
Product change will not change the date of the account opening.

Looks like I'm getting boned again for the in-branch offer (same thing happened with the 80k CSR last month). Not showing up on my profile when the banker pulls up my info. I currently have a Chase Freedom and a two checking accounts with them. They keep saying its because I had a CSP in the past. I opened a CSP in March 2017, got my 100k bonus in my June 3rd 2017 statement. Kept the card for 2 years and closed it.
If you're replying to me, yes this card is not showing up on my profile as an option to apply for when I go into the bank and they pull up all my accounts. There's a screen that shows what cards I am pre-approved for and a list of other accounts I am eligble to apply for. This card is not showing up as an option so I cannot apply in branch.

I see. Have you tried to verify this by attempting to apply online? Just go to chase.com and go to the credit cards page and find the card.

Definitely not 4 years

I did the same with my wife.
If I get my wife to refer me and she receives the 15000 referral bonus does that effect the 48 month rule? This making it start over?
Anyone else have the same issue? Any work around?
