I mentioned the offer to my wife who is a Chase employee and she pulled it up on her internal system. It had a note that they had additional offers if you apply in a branch. You get the 100k points, 1st year AF waived, and a $50 grocery credit. So essentially an extra $145 for applying in the branch.
Wow. No brainer if you are eligible for the bonus.
I signed up for 80k offer just last week. Can I get chase to make it 100k?

Ouch. 833 credit score, more than sufficient six-figure income, and existing relationship with Chase (two cards from years back, neither a Sapphire card). Also haven't opened up a new credit line or loan in the past few years.
Application was pended, and called in yesterday to validate identity and income. Also agreed to shift 10k of my existing credit line to this account.
Still pended and have to wait 7 to 10 business days, most likely for a decline letter in the mail. There are no freezes on my credit bureaus, and already took a 3-point hit on my Equifax credit score.
This is quite upsetting. Called in again today, and they shared there is no other information they can share and that I will need to wait for a decision in the mail. Anything else anyone can think of that may be blocking me from being approved from this account?

The obvious response is "Have you pulled your 3 credit reports lately to check?"

Wow, I have a similar credit story, no reason to get denied, I am going to the branch in person on Monday to see if they can do anything.

The same thing happened to my husband. It was being reviewed by the fraud department. It as due to a fraud alert we had on our credit report but he called Chase, verified it was him and was approved.
As long as one did not receive new card member bonus (like this one) in the past 48 months.
Here is my understanding. I can downgrade my current Sapphire card (from 2011) to unlimited and wait for 2 days then apply for new sapphire card . and I i got approved, I will get bonus reward with no issue. Can somebody plz confirm this. I am trying to decide between cancelling card vs converting to a different card before applying new card. And not sure how long I have to wait before applying new Sapphire card.
When you see you are pre-approved for the Sapphire Preferred, it means you are the target who meets specific criteria of the Sapphire Preferred card. When you apply, you are applying for a new credit. Thus, there will be a hard pull on you. Unless Chase has your consent, they will not convert your Slate to Sapphire Preferred. In a circumstance like Slate being discontinued, then Chase will convert your Slate to another same-tier card. Sapphire Preferred is not considered a same-tier card of Slate. Freedom Unlimited is. Keep in mind that a product change will not qualify for the sign-up bonus of 100K points.
There are certain categories you can redeem your points with 125%. Grocery, travel, home improvement, charity, restaurant, are all among the categories.
Is there a difference between pre-approved and approved?ā¦.my chase app says I'm "already approved"ā¦.could it be that I am approved based off my chase credit journey score? I am in the process of purchasing a new home in the coming months and don't need additional credit pulls. I would like to take advantage of the bonus and "convert" my slate card to another card that will give me rewardsā¦I am " approved" for both preferred and unlimited. Would go with the preferred if I can get it without a credit pull otherwise the unlimited will have to do.
I applied this week (a week after changing my CSR to a freedom) and got the 30 day message. I opened the CSR right when it came out and not over 5/24. 800+ Credit.
Does the 30 days just mean they haven't processed my application?
How long should I wait to call the reconsideration line?
I have 3 other lines of credit at Chase totalling over 100k... I'm thinking I might need to move some of that around...

Very similar situation here. I called the following business day, shifted credit lines around and approved. Appeared in the app within hours.
This has happened multiple times over the years for me with new Chase cards and a quick call resolves it.
I understand this is upsetting, but do not worry. Based on your credit worthiness and the income level, plus the relationship with Chase, I can't find a clue why Chase would deny you. Most likely this is due to their internal fraud alert. Chase will contact you to verify some information for sure.
My dad applied for the Chase Freedom Flex last year. While his application was on pending for a decision, he received a phone call from Chase notifying him a letter with a passcode would be sent to the address on his application. After receiving the letter he needed to call the phone number on the letter and revealed the code. This step is to prove his address is real. He finally got his Freedom Flex approved.
In the meantime, dig into your credit reports of all bureaus for any possible errors. You can get your free credit reports here[annualcreditreport.com]. Good luck!
