I mentioned the offer to my wife who is a Chase employee and she pulled it up on her internal system. It had a note that they had additional offers if you apply in a branch. You get the 100k points, 1st year AF waived, and a $50 grocery credit. So essentially an extra $145 for applying in the branch.
Wow. No brainer if you are eligible for the bonus.
I signed up for 80k offer just last week. Can I get chase to make it 100k?

I usually don't chew over the wordings of marketing schemes. In general, a product change does not require a hard pull. When applying for a new credit, it does require a hard pull. AFAIK, only some cards from AMEX may have a soft pull for pre-approval offers.

In your situation, it will be wise not to do anything until your home purchase is done.

Is there a difference between pre-approved and approved?….my chase app says I'm "already approved"….could it be that I am approved based off my chase credit journey score? I am in the process of purchasing a new home in the coming months and don't need additional credit pulls. I would like to take advantage of the bonus and "convert" my slate card to another card that will give me rewards…I am " approved" for both preferred and unlimited. Would go with the preferred if I can get it without a credit pull otherwise the unlimited will have to do.

If my account says I'm already approved, does that automatically mean it has been more than 48 months once my last sapphire card? Is it possible for someone's account to say you've been already approved and later be declined due to it being less than 48 months since the last Sapphire card? Tough to get chase to confirm the last date of Sapphire card since they delete it from your profile.

People who applied at the branch, did anyone spent $4000 already and received 80k + 20k UR points?
I am almost there. Next week, I should be over 4K.

Just went through the app again and noticed at the bottom it says "We used your membership in Credit JourneySM to customize this offer." —I sent them a message asking if a hard pull would be required. Will post back when I get a reply.

Guys, I will really appreciate if somebody please clarify this.

Here is my understanding. I can downgrade my current Sapphire card (from 2011) to unlimited and wait for 2 days then apply for new sapphire card . and if i get approved, I will get bonus reward with no issue. Can somebody plz confirm this. I am trying to decide between cancelling card vs converting to a different card before applying new card. And not sure how long I have to wait before applying new Sapphire card.

Please clarify TIA.

As long as one did not receive new card member bonus (like this one) in the past 48 months.
You mean existing Sapphire customer don't have to cancel card. They can just downgrade to a different card and apply new CSP card they will get bonus as long as they have not got any CSP bonus in last 48 months.

There are more than a dozen posts with your question which have been answered. You can search inside the thread.

You cannot cancel. If you do, you have to wait 30 days. You have to downgrade. That is your only option if you want this offer as its rumored to end on 7/17

After you downgrade, you need to wait more than 2 days though. It can take up-to a week or so but generally, people have been saying 4 days.

I met the spending $4000 in 3 months from previous offer (80k points). The bonus 80k points also shows in the account.

I wanted the know, what date the bonus will be counted? The day, I met $4000 spending, the day it was posted, or the following statement day? (I want to write this down so that I can use next time I apply for CSP or CSR.

TIA

It excludes online purchases.

Yes, WholeFoods is coded as grocery to qualify $50 grocery credit. This only works for in-store.

But gift cards on WholeFoods.com is coded differently and does not qualify.

Wish it was like the good ole days when they switched bonuses. Got the 80k point offer in March and they wouldn't switch it to the 100k. Frown

I assume the grocery credit doesn't have to be from a single $50 purchase, correct?
