I mentioned the offer to my wife who is a Chase employee and she pulled it up on her internal system. It had a note that they had additional offers if you apply in a branch. You get the 100k points, 1st year AF waived, and a $50 grocery credit. So essentially an extra $145 for applying in the branch.
Wow. No brainer if you are eligible for the bonus.
I signed up for 80k offer just last week. Can I get chase to make it 100k?

Data Point: I applied in branch after downgrading from CSP to Freedom unlimited around 2 weeks ago. I met my spend in 1 week. last week my statement closed and I automatically got $100K points even though my bonus point tracker showed only 80k.Also, I got grocery credit as well even though my banker did not mention it.
How did the grocery credit show up? You had to purchase over $50 grocery in a single transaction?
2-weeks generally means approved. Just be a bit patient and call to check the status a couple days later.
YES ! No email yet and this morning not approved yet but this afternoon it magically showed up on my Chase sign in. I phoned and got 1-day delivery and decreased the CL from 24K to the minimum 5K. I have been shut down before by Chase for too much outstanding credit. As a matter of fact a few years ago i was shut down and blacklisted. I now have 6 Chase cards and have had the CSP twice but beyond the 48-month rule.
Congrats! But Chase would not "blacklist" you because they had granted you too much credit. They probably do not want to extend any new credit to you and thus deny your credit card applications in future. Upon denial you can always call their recon hotline to move your credit line from one account to the new account and get the new card approved.

I visited the bank a little bit ago and signed up for the card in person. I can confirm that when signing up, they waive the first year's annual fee, you still get the 100k welcome bonus, and you get a $50 credit for grocery spending.
Any idea if the bonus applies if you transfer/change from a different Chase cc? We have the Chase Marriott now but would love to switch to this or a traditional Amex if the right promo comes along..

Not how it works. Many of us went through it with Chase a few years ago. Both Chase and AmEx will sometimes surprise you with audits when your total limit gets high and demand proof of income claimed, records etc and if you don't provide it sufficiently they close all your accounts. In addition Chase closed all accounts and blacklisted many people for something having to do with suspicious checking activities and closed their cards too. I got hit with a "using credit cards in a way not intended" (pre-5/24), probably meaning churning cards and all cards were closed. Except 6 months later i was able to start getting Chase cards again. Since then i am careful to keep my credit lines as low as possible so as not to spook any auditors. I also ask to turn off automatic credit line increases. I have 6 Chase cards now and they put a $24K credit line on the new card. I was careful to immediately ask the limit be lowered to the minimum allowed-$5000 and auto increases be turned off. One tumble with the Chase auditors was enough for me.

Product changes generally do not qualify for new card bonuses.
Also, you can't change from a co-branded Chase card (like Marriot) to a first-party chase card anyway.
And Amex is an entirely different company.
There's tons of good new card signups- there's not much reason to not do as many of them as you can safely afford to make the spend on.
But first take some time to read up on the rules of various issuers as there's an order to best maximize doing so.
I hear you. I know AMEX notoriously close customer accounts without notice. Once an account is adversely closed, they don't even want to talk to you. Years ago there was an online tool with which users could pump their credit limit every 3 months and the increases were very generous. AMEX found the glitch months later and asked for income proof of those who abused this tool. Those lying about their income got their accounts closed. I don't know Chase is as strict as AMEX, and will perform periodic audit on users accounts. Something new to know. But I still think if I don't exaggerate my income level, I'll be safe. Thanks for sharing your experience with us.

If you still have the card, then no. But many others downgrade the card to an no-fee card, wait about a week and apply the CSP again to get the SUB. You just have to make sure your last SUB is more than 48 months ago.

I have the regular Sapphire…is it safe to assume I'm not eligible for this offer?
Just went into the branch. The in branch offer is still the same as before: 80k bonus points with annual fee waived for first year. So much better to apply online.
Applied in branch for my spouse on 3 july, got annual fee waived and even though it shows 80K, mgr confirme it will be 100K points added, if I meet the criteria. Bummer is, I cannot provide my referral link nor will I get any added bonus for being additional authorized user
