I mentioned the offer to my wife who is a Chase employee and she pulled it up on her internal system. It had a note that they had additional offers if you apply in a branch. You get the 100k points, 1st year AF waived, and a $50 grocery credit. So essentially an extra $145 for applying in the branch.
Wow. No brainer if you are eligible for the bonus.
I signed up for 80k offer just last week. Can I get chase to make it 100k?

Whenever you have a big spending coming up, it's always nice to sign up a new credit card with fruitful sign-up bonus. I think your main question is whether or not to close the account after receiving the incentive. The below post will answer your question.
In addition, I suggest you spend some time to read the thread. There is some basic info of the card that is important to applicants and cardholders.
1. Chase currently has a redemption program for CSP cardholders called Pay Yourself Back[thepointsguy.com] (PYB) with 1.25x redemption value on selective categories. Home improvement is among them.
2. The $95 annual fee is waived when signing up in branch.

I was approved for the card but don't do much travel. I am, however, expecting to drop at least $4k on home improvements in the next couple months. Is it a reasonable idea to activate the card, spend $4k on it in the first three months, get the bonus and cash it out (somehow? Never had a Chase card before) and then close the card? I assume I'll have to pay the $95 AF but it sounds like the 100k points is worth around $1k? Thanks for the help...
"Prequalified" means you have been screened with your profile data. "All credit cards" is just a list of credit cards for everyone. If you don't see CSP as prequalified or preapproved, then you might not be eligible to apply for CSP as of yet, probably due to your old Sapphire account record still being stuck on Chase system.

CSP not in prequalified cards, it is in "all cards" instead.
Nope. Only account closure will take as many as 30 days to clear off the old Sapphire account record on Chase system. Product change typically requires far less time. It used to be 3 to 5 days but apparently Chase is now taking a longer time to complete the product change process during the 100K point offer. The latest data points show that you may need to wait up to 2 weeks.
The eligibility of getting the Sapphire card bonus is not based on when your last Sapphire account was opened. It is based on your last Sapphire card bonus received.

Thanks. My CSR sub was received in Dec 2016 which is almost 5 years ago
I don't want to pay the annual fee again, which will be charged 10/1
I think I am in a time crunch now because I am expected to be laid off this month so if I apply after being laid off I will likely not get approved
I initially was just going to take a break from the CSR and then resignup for another sub but I guess if I get the better SUB from CSP, and I later decide I want the CSR benefits I can always upgrade, especially since the SUB for CSR is now 40k less
Sidenote: all my points were used, the last 5k were just applied as credits, not sure if they will still process if I cancel but hopefully, so only reason to downgrade is to allow me to apply quicker, not to save points. I am also going to waste about $14 in Doordash credit but I have a giftcard balance so it would take a good week before I can use it. Oh well

In branch, I still get 100k sign up bonus and waived annual fee?
If I have friend refer me, he gets 20k , but my SUB for me is still the same, right?. You mentioned an extra $200 vs the waived fee. The $200 you mention is the value of the 20,000 my friend gets, right, nothing for me? Because if thats the case I'd rather save the fee as my friend with the CSP already owes me money , lol

Exactly my plan too. However I'm saving my points to transfer to Chase partners for airfare or hotel redemptions. I think that's the most value per point? My second option was to applied as credits at the 1.5X redemption rate too.

Yeah, I just used them up by applying 1.5 to restaurants. Same as travel benefit and this way you are not restricted to the UR travel system to book travel
If you know someone or a family member who can refer you for CSP, that would be a better deal since the referrer will get 20K points valued $200 while the applicant will still get 100K points. Signing up in branch will get $95 annual fee waived. $200 vs $95. You do the math!
But if you are not getting the $200 back from your friend, then it'd be better to sign up in branch.
Warning: Do not get a wife just to save this $200. You'd be regretted!

Does that mean I can apply?
Thanks!

I'm in walking distance of a branch which is nice
My wife has CSR. Can she refer me to CSP? If yes, how long do I need to wait? TIA
