Or start your own bank and offer a credit card product that does exactly what you are complaining about. Many businesses are started out of frustration with what is currently being offered in the marketplace.

In my case, I picked up a couple of new credit cards earlier this year. The effect on my credit score was minimal, dropping only about 10 points each time and bouncing back the next month. When I picked up another credit card in August, my credit score dropped 35 points ... that was because it was the fourth hard pull in the last six months ... and I expect it to bounce back in October after two of the credit hard pulls migrate out from the six month window. BTW, I have had 4 new credit cards in the past 2 years. I'm deliberately keeping the 5th open in case Chase offers another great bonus (see Chase's 5/24 rule).
FICO score updates: Equifax bounced back 29 points today. Transunion is up 31 points.

However, unlike third-party leaks in the recent past, this particular report has received very little corroboration. Indeed, ThePointsGuy used to have a webpage similarly reporting the extension thru the month of December, but he has subsequently withdrawn the article [thepointsguy.com].

If travel is booked through Chase, are the fares, rates etc. the same as if booking directly with the hotel or airline? I'd bet not.

I travel for work and attempted to use my Chase 5% back, however the actual cost of the travel was 25% higher when booking through Chase.
