I mentioned the offer to my wife who is a Chase employee and she pulled it up on her internal system. It had a note that they had additional offers if you apply in a branch. You get the 100k points, 1st year AF waived, and a $50 grocery credit. So essentially an extra $145 for applying in the branch.
Wow. No brainer if you are eligible for the bonus.
I signed up for 80k offer just last week. Can I get chase to make it 100k?

I know there is already a ton of questions on here, but does anyone know if a balance transfer counts?

Balance transfers do not count.

Just bought a LG 83" C1 from buy dig for 5700 after tax. Got $500 credited back instead of the gift card. Chase shows 106k points pending for next statement

Thanks. It pisses me off that they don't allow us to disable it completely. I mean, I'm the farking customer, it is my card, why the hell can't I control what I don't want? So I have no clue what is going to be categorized as an advance yet I'm still responsible for paying? Screw that.
Because it's not your card. It's the banks card. They control what you can or can't do with it. They are in the business of making money. Not giving free things to people. If you don't like it, apply for a different card. That's the beauty of free enterprise.

Or start your own bank and offer a credit card product that does exactly what you are complaining about. Many businesses are started out of frustration with what is currently being offered in the marketplace.

At 4:30AM (EST), your guess is as good as mine. Since there is no official end date to this promotion, it could end at any time.

Be that as it may, no one has yet reported the deal over ... so, presumably, the offer is still on.

I gotta do my research & figure out which of these will work for us. We spend a ton on CC & only get 1.5% CB currently. That's not good enough

That's exactly what I did, I sent a referral via the Chase app to my wife. FYI I already got my 20k referral bonus on my latest statement, and we haven't completed the $4k spend requirement on my wife's card. I had read a few times on here that that may be a prerequisite to earn the referral bonus, but it wasn't the case for me.
Nice! How long after her approval did you get the 20k?

My wife's account was opened on July 30th, and I received the 20k bonus on my September 7th statement.

So it didn't show up on my August 7th statement. I'm guessing it was too close to her account opening date?

No research is necessary for the current deal. A thousand bucks sign-up bonus is a thousand bucks! The only thing you need to figure out is whether you qualify and what option to sign-up under:
https://slickdeals.net/forums/showpost.php?p=147783607&postcount=850

As to diversifying your credit card portfolio to maximize returns:
https://slickdeals.net/forums/showpost.php?p=149692804&postcount=4764

It's not a comprehensive list, but it gives you a starting point.

Also, you should be careful about how many and in what order you apply for new credit cards. Banks have all sorts of different rules about how they treat recent applications:
https://thepointsguy.com/guide/cr...trictions/

And you should also be aware of how recent applications affect your credit score:
https://www.thebalance.com/will-a...ore-960093
https://www.nerdwallet.com/articl...edit-score

In my case, I picked up a couple of new credit cards earlier this year. The effect on my credit score was minimal, dropping only about 10 points each time and bouncing back the next month. When I picked up another credit card in August, my credit score dropped 35 points ... that was because it was the fourth hard pull in the last six months ... and I expect it to bounce back in October after two of the credit hard pulls migrate out from the six month window. BTW, I have had 4 new credit cards in the past 2 years. I'm deliberately keeping the 5th open in case Chase offers another great bonus (see Chase's 5/24 rule).

FICO score updates: Equifax bounced back 29 points today. Transunion is up 31 points.

Anyone know what is the next 25% bonus redemption category? The current Grocery/Restaurant/Home Improvement 25% bonus ends Sept 30.

Some reports that the PYB program has been extended to December 31, 2021.
https://www.doctorofcredit.com/ch...ategories..
https://themoneyninja.com/chase-e...k-feature/

However, unlike third-party leaks in the recent past, this particular report has received very little corroboration. Indeed, ThePointsGuy used to have a webpage similarly reporting the extension thru the month of December, but he has subsequently withdrawn the article [thepointsguy.com].

Edit: PYB extended to 3/31/2022, limited categories for redemption.

Only select charities category is extended. No words about other categories. Pretty much they will be expired tomorrow.

No, it doesn't.

This is very tempting and I think I have a good chance of qualifying.

If travel is booked through Chase, are the fares, rates etc. the same as if booking directly with the hotel or airline? I'd bet not.

Eddie

I travel for work and attempted to use my Chase 5% back, however the actual cost of the travel was 25% higher when booking through Chase.
